Loka Amertha

Super comfortable, very large bungalow with a massive terrace and bathroom. Excellent WiFi and all around perfect 🙏 also an excellent breakfast included in the incredible price!

Great location, with a wonderful staff, close to a beautiful rice field! The cabin is very cozy, all made of wood, with a gorgeous bathroom that included a rainfall shower and a bathtub 🛀. Bed was comfortable and breakfast delicious! Porch very enjoyable too.

It was very hot during our 6 day stay, so a/c would have been great. The fan provided was ok, but not really enough for a comfortable night. The owners did mention it will be installed in 2025 :)

Breakfast was good and copious. The staff (at breakfast especially) was nice and happy to help :) They arranged for a trek in the rice fields around which was nice!

The hot water was not always working properly and the pressure was not the best. The rooms really need to be cleaned (dead insects on the walls, stains on the walls). We are in the middle of nature so many insects come inside the room (open bathroom), be prepared! The ventilator was rusted (let’s say that the room in general is old and could use some change in terms of furniture. A WhatsApp number communicated could be a plus to contact the owner. The base line here is that it’s too expensive for what it is.

It was very clean. Owners are super friendly and helped me with every little problem. Good breakfast.

What a wonderful location and wonderful hosts. A cabin in a little valley with a rice paddy in front and every exotic fruit you can imagine planted and grown by the owner. The cooking class was hard work cooking in the traditional way but he results was definitely worth it. Chopping, grinding spices, onions, chicken in mortal and pestle and BBQing over a fire of coconut shells. A lot of the ingredients came from the garden. One of the best dinners ever and we cooked it ourselves (with a bit of help)

Everything was much better than expected. Such a lovely peaceful corner of the world. I loved the spacious room with big windows allowing sun rays to come in as the sun sets down. Just a magical place taken from a fairy tale with the sound of the river running and the rice terraces just a short walk away. There's an amazing Warung 10 min walk up the road where I had the best meal in Bali. I went back the day after. EcoResort restaurant is literally next door with yummy food and beautiful river surroundings. I extended my stay and still considered extending again. Thanks Ayu and the rest of the team for an amazing quite and lovely stay. I absolutely loved the semi open air shower. Couldn't feel any closer to nature.

Everything was great. The only thing I found a bit dangerous is the kettle in my room had a broken lid and wouldn't stop when water was boiling. I nearly burnt my hand the first time I used it as I wasn't aware. Forgot to mention to staff, sorry.

At Loka Amertha we experienced the hospitality and surroundings of the "old Bali" we had heard about in our travels. The wood cabin with small rice field in front had a down to earth charm and you could hear the nearby river. Breakfast was excellent and the owners very friendly and accommodating. Dodi took us on a beautiful sunrise trek above Sideman to view the valley at first light and surprised us with coffee and snacks. We then spent several hours walking the lush rice fields, followed by a delicious homemade lunch at his cousin's family compound. We later enjoyed a waterfall with several pools to swim in, then a fascinating visit to a local weaving factory. Dinner is not served at Loka Amertha but there is a very good restaurant within easy walking distance beside the roaring river that is part of a nearby resort. With that and everything else taken care of by Dodi and his family, we had an unforgettable "real Bali" experience in Sideman and would love to return some day!
