White Lotus Oasis

Close walking distance to restaurants, shops, scooter rentals, currency exchange, street market, monkey forest BUT away from the noise. Has its own waterfall which brings a calm to your stay. Has a terrace with a large comfortable sofa/bed you can lounge on and enjoy the sounds of nature with green all around you. We enjoyed it every morning. Staff was very friendly. All tap water is drinkable.

Shower water pressure is a bit low, but otherwise nothing bad to say.

We enjoyed our time here, it was the perfect location to explore Ubud and set back from the main roads which can be hectic. The place was really relaxing and we even extended our stay. Good recommendations for laundry and food which we appreciated.

We accidentally booked the room with just a fan not realising and it got very hot at times during the night. I’d book the rooms with AC if I came again

Well located, centre of Ubud just a few minutes walk away and a lovely market just seconds. Safe, quiet neighbourhood. Clean and well maintained room, bed linen & bathroom. Lovely veranda with comfy sofa overlooking a tiny garden. Kettle, coffee / tea making facilities and fridge. Little cute kitten. Quick, clear communication beforehand.

- For me the constant sound of the fountain in the garden was way too much, esp. during the night. Even with earplugs I couldn’t really sleep. - The price / value wasn’t there for me compared to others in Ubud centre. No A/c or breakfast incl. at a higher price. For me a nice, clean standard room - wouldn’t call it deluxe. - My room Deluxe King Room was at the beginning, so I felt some lack of privacy & had my curtains always closed - having said that there are only two more rooms down there, so not much traffic. - Contrary to the description they don‘t offer airport pick-ups. It should be removed, it’s misleading as this made me book this place. - No A/c only fan - Mostly only geckos in the room which are harmless and good moskito net around the bed

Stay clear - the only positive was the proximity to the town and rice fields but definitely not worth it. Many other options nearby.

Where to start… - Paid upfront for four nights left after 1 night. - Room was not clean and in degraded condition compared to photos - Appeared to be a passport scam attempt. I’ve travelled overseas to many countries around the world over the past 15 years and to Bali around 6 times, never experienced anything like this. Sandeh a German lady who is the host, walked off with my passport without a word mid conversation. Which I did find strange at the time. I then messaged Sandeh requesting my passport back. Sandeh gave delayed responses and a slightly different excuse each message why she wouldn’t give my passport back that day, but said it would be safe with her. After 10hrs requesting my passport I arrived at Sandehs apartment door to try get my passport. She initially wasnt answering the door and once the door opened still refused to give me the passport and said she didn’t have my passport anymore and it was now in the possession of her cleaner in another village at least 30mins away. Sandeh was saying things like “don’t you trust me?” and was acting like it was a normal situation and just acted very strangely given the situation. I had to mention calling police before Sandeh after 20-30mins then called the cleaner to get my passport delivered back from wherever it was. My passport arrived around 1hr later at 950pm with all the pages curled up and pulled back. When the cleaner arrived on scooter and gave it back to me, they just said “are you the one who wanted their passport back?” And nothing else. Sandeh’s communication throughout was super odd. I was creeped out by her and the whole experience, so packed my bags and left immediately - and found an amazing home stay with an amazing Balinese family. - There was no water in the room, had to walk the streets when I first arrived at 2am to buy water. There was a sign in the room saying “tap water is safe to drink”. Indonesian friends laughed when I told them. I’d never seen that in Bali in 15 years visiting.

The place is amazing, the location is great. All is walking distance but in a very quiet “oasis”. You’re in the middle of the nature, near a waterfall and surrounded by trees. The bungalow is very nice, you even have a kitchen with a mini fridge.

We stayed there two nights, and the evening before leaving we had no water at all for a shower/brush our teeth or anything. When we woke up the next morning we still didn’t have water. Unfortunately it wasn’t fixed before we left so that was the disappointing bit.

Awesome large balcony with garden view. Very quiet although you are in the center of Ubud.

Location is perfect, at the centre of Ubud and at the sand time in the middle of nature, the host is really kind. The room was really clean.

The room and the bathroom are smelly due to the high humidity

Stunning little sanctuary in the heart of Ubud. Quiet but for the sound of the waterfall. We loved the openness of our chalet, it had everything we needed.
