Guesthouse Gusti Putu Oka

I had a great stay here and ended up extending my stay for almost 2 months. I stayed in the large room upstairs and was exactly as pictured. It was quiet, great WiFi, comfy bed, and the little couch and table were great to have. Agung was wonderful, welcoming, and always warm and helpful as well.

Comfortable bed, great location close to local restaurants, strong wifi, and the most friendly host. Despite our flight landing very late in the evening, Agung was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. He even offered to clean the room everyday, which we did not expect at all. We also loved that the homestay was slightly out of the center of town which made it much more peaceful and quiet, but still easily accessible by foot.

Everything was perfect! The owner is really nice and helpful guy) There is good wi-fi, hot water and spacious room. Location is good, but you can go there only by motorcycle, they also have parking under the roof. There is common kitchen and fridge outside the room.

The greenery, the quiet overnight, the aircon, the wifi, the kitchen, 8-10 mins walk to yoga barn, outdoor seating, alittle couch, no TV and excellent and attentive care from Agung.

There are roosters that fall silent overnight and start about 5am however I decided to just accept that as part of the experience given there were so many great aspects.

I enjoyed my stay so much that I decided to extend it. Agung and his family are incredibly warm and kind. They were always helpful with everything. The location isn’t too far from the main attractions, yet it’s away from traffic noise. The rooms are very clean, and the WiFi and kitchen are great as well. I would definitely come back.

Nothing really

I initially booked Gusti Putu Oka Homestay for only a couple of nights, checking it out first with the intention of staying with Ubud for a month. After arriving, I immediately extended my stay. The accommodation had everything you might need - AC, hot water, shared kitchen and fridge, a green space. The space is very clean and nicely set up with enough storage. I stayed in two rooms, not with outside sitting areas looking at nature. Agun, the host, went above and beyond to ensure that each guest feels at home. I also found lovely fresh flowers in my room every time it was fully cleaned (I requested cleaning every couple of days as I'm quite careful with the space I live in and for water and electricity saving reasons). The Homestay is well located, close to Yoga Barn and also walking distance from various warungs and a short scooter ride away from the centre and larger supermarkets. There is a possibility to rent a scooter on the spot, making everything even more comfortable. Thank you so much to Agun for his great hospitality! Highly recommended!

While there is not much traffic and the road next to the Homestay can only be accessed by scooters, it can be loud. Families in the area also keep roosters, which are also quite loud and they can wake you up throughout the night and early mornings. Some spaces in the area also burn something, occasionally leading to having your clothes dried outside smell like smoke. Nothing that Agun and the team could control, but good to point out. When I was staying in one of the upper rooms, when people were showering simultaneously in different rooms, the water pressure was lower and the water became cold. This was easy to navigate though. Throughout my stay, the WiFi was very often weak or didn't work. This was partially caused by the rainy season and big storms, as well as to the service provider. While Agun was proactive in trying to fix the issue as soon as possible, if you're a digital nomad, take this into account.
