Maghrabi's Guest house

This guesthouse was a serene stay away from the hustle and bustle of Aswan. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Highly recommended for those wanting a peaceful stay on the west bank of Aswan.

This is a true hidden gem in Aswan! The location is so peaceful and beautiful and accommodation is comfortable and clean. However, the hospitality of Hossam and his brother is what makes this place unforgettable. Their home cooked meals are delicious and reasonably priced and they also offer free boat crossing to the East Bank. Truly, the people in the village are lovely and we wish we could've stayed here longer!

Struttura ben tenuta sulle riva occidentale del Nilo, colazione molto buona e abbondante e mangiare nel giardino interno con il Nilo che scorre a fianco impagabile, noi abbiamo infatti scelto anche di cenarci in quanto cena abbondante, ottima, prezzo onestissimo e in totale tranquillità lontano dalla confusione della città. Hossam sempre disponibile per qualsiasi richiesta ed ad accompagnarci e riprenderci sulla sponda opposta con la propria barca per andare in città. Bello e autentico anche il villaggio Nubiano in cui si trova questa Guest House e le tombe dei nobili molto interessanti da visitare si trovano a poche centinaia di metri, se dovessimo tornare ad Assuan sicuramente riprenoteremo questa struttura.

Nuestra estancia en Maghrabi's Guest House ha sido lo mejor de nuestros 4 días en Aswan. El lugar es un oasis en la orilla oeste del nilo (no te preocupes ellos te cruzan gratis al otro lado si lo necesitas y también te recogen 😉). Los desayunos y las cenas simplemente deliciosas y lo mejor de todo la familia que regenta el hotel son gente maravillosa que ni si quiera aceptan una propina porque su objetivo es hacerte sentir cómodo y parte de la familia (que tras más de 3 semanas recorriendo Egipto ya falta nos hacía 😊) Sin duda un acierto y recomendable 200℅ Ojala mas alojamientos siguieran esta misma filosofía. Por cierto si tienes la oportunidad no dejes de hacer con ellos una excursión de una hora por el nilo para ver las islas, el pueblo nubio y cientos de aves diferentes 😍 Volveremos pronto!

Todo nos encantó

Przejechaliśmy cały Egipt – od Kairu aż po Abu Simbel – nocując w różnych miejscach: od hoteli z basenami, przez obiekty z obsługą noszącą walizki i odstawiającą samochód na parking. I właśnie dlatego mogę powiedzieć jedno: to miejsce jest absolutnie wyjątkowe. Tego, czego tu doświadczyliśmy, nie da się porównać z żadnym innym noclegiem. To nie jest tylko hotel – to klimat, spokój i energia, którą czuć od pierwszej chwili. Właściciel tworzy atmosferę, jakiej nigdzie indziej nie spotkaliśmy – robi wszystko, żeby goście czuli się dobrze. Dosłownie wszystko. Masz ochotę na konkretne jedzenie? Nie ma problemu. Tadżin z mięsem? Właściciel potrafi popłynąć łódką po składniki na drugi brzeg Nilu i po chwili masz świeży, domowy obiad. Ryba? Przypływają rybacy, wybiera najlepszą i trafia na Twój talerz. Kurczak, coś specjalnego, coś „spoza menu”? Tu nie istnieje coś takiego jak „nie da się”. Najlepszy przykład: moja żona miała ochotę na zupę o 13:00. Obsługa powiedziała, że kucharz będzie dopiero o 17:00. Po chwili pojawił się właściciel – zapytał w czym problem, uśmiechnął się i powiedział: „poczekajcie pół godziny”. I była. Najlepsza zupa, jaką jedliśmy w Egipcie. Do tego okolica – prawdziwa Nubijska miejscowość, bez sztuczności „pod turystę” – prawdziwe życie, autentyczny klimat i zero udawania.. Autentyczna, spokojna, zielona. Można usiąść wśród drzew mango i po prostu… odpocząć. Szczerze? W pewnym momencie ode chciało nam się zwiedzania – woleliśmy zostać na miejscu i chłonąć ten klimat. Pokój w stylu nubijskim – czysty, klimatyczny. Śniadania bardzo dobre. Ceny naprawdę niskie jak na jakość, którą się dostaje. Zorganizował nam też rejs po Nilu – około 5 godzin za 25 USD za dwie osoby. Bez problemu, bez kombinowania. Jeśli ktoś szuka spokoju, autentycznego Egiptu, świetnego jedzenia i miejsca z duszą – to jest dokładnie to.

Beautiful West Bank location in Nubian Aswan. It was peaceful and far from cruise port crowds and noise. The homemade food was excellent and authentic. The hotel provided a boat for easily getting into town.

No room cleaning during our visit, only a couple of packets of some purple gel for toiletries left in the shower, and the TV had only 5 working channels out of 700. The main issue was communication around costs. Note that the hotel is cash-only at checkout and there is no atm nearby.

Great location, far away from the noisy city centre but also right in the middle of a natural, family-friendly neighbourhood, among the fields and the animals! In 10 minutes (and for free!), the hotel staff will drop you off on the East bank, where you can get a taxi. Also, the room exceeded our expectations: not huge, but classy, with a beautiful bathroom and a balcony! Best value we encountered during our 1-month trip in Egypt! This place is good for birdspotting!
