The hosts were very nice and were not pushy at all about formalities for check in and payment. In fact I had to chase them to pay. There is a rooftop with a view on the Ganges, however it lacks any kind of amenities. In my opinion, this is the most basic of basics of a stay in Varanasi. A room like this (the "budget room") used to cost 5 dollars a night in 2010, and the price did not go much up, so you're getting the genuine backpacker experience. If you're ready, it can be a great spot to start your day, as the ghats are just around the corner and you're just a minute away from the main old town alleyway with plenty of vendors and backpackers' spots of all sorts.

The room was described as having a view, I was not sure if the room pictures were representative of the actual state of things, so I was a bit perplexed when I saw that the room looks more like an austere cell for a hermit, albeit with a private bathroom (no sink though). It may be considered as partly convenient, as less noise gets in from the outside. I wish there was a cabinet or even a chair in the room - I had no place to put / unpack my luggage.

Check in experience was not as i was expecting . HFirst i arrived early so he said i have to comeback on check in time and at check in time ,he moved me to another hotel as it was overbooked etc . As i was new to the town ,i have to rely on this and jump from here to there . I booked this for 3 days. Then other hotel guy said ,i can accomadate for only 1 day so i have to shift back again. This is not what you expect after booking months in advance. Room are reasonable at price but overall place was not clean. Even at cheap price, keeping it overall clean is needed.
