Ali and his staff are great, true locals. The location is very good, just in front of the Nungas wave.

The room had some drawbacks. Forget about taking a refreshing nap under the air conditioning, as it doesn't work during the day and inside the room it feels like being in an oven from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. So you better go outside all day. Then, little by little, the air conditioning starts to work by the night. A small refrigerator would have been nice to at least keep drinks cool. There are cracks all over the room because it is made of rustic wood. Be prepared to find lizard poop and live with it. At night, you can see a very large one on the ceiling. There is a mosquito net on the bed, and I didn't get any lizard shit on me while I slept. If you're not very familiar with them, you'll get a big scare. You can have a basic breakfast at the bar. Check the prices carefully, as they may charge you anything if you're not paying attention. The motorcycle they give you costs 70,000 rupees and is in pretty bad shape, but it does the job of taking you for a ride. Besides surfing, there isn't much else to do.

Loved the vibe at Rock Pool, the beach bar is perfect to enjoy sunset right on the beach. Ali and his family are super friendly hosts and the staff was great too. Definitely recommend this place!

My partner and I stayed for a month and it was spectacular. The rock pools at low tide are amazing—lots of great snorkeling right out front with star fish, eels and colorful fish. Vicky and I loved the family—staff and all. Unlike many places nearby, Ali’s is a community gathering spot where local friends and family visit and enjoy daily. Ali’s bar has lots of action at times, but there’s always a way to find quiet at a nearby tree with a bean bag. Music always gets quiet around 10. The place is rustic—meaning older wood floorboards and occasional bugs and gecko poop—though that’s standard around here! I highly recommend Ali’s for a good hearted, enjoyable time. Oh! And for amazing surf at Nungas right out front! Thanks again Ali and family!

The AC leaked water but Ali had a technician come soon to fix it—he’s very proactive and always checking in how to make the stay more comfortable.
