Angel Oak guesthouse

Rooms all tastefully furnished. Guesthouse was spotless. Very comfortable and homey. Francois was attentive and very helpful.

Location a little dodgy. No fault of owners. Unfortunately guesthouse is in an older established neighbourhood of Brits that over time has become commercialised. Property does however had adequate security. Bathrooms in certain rooms - very small - can feel a little claustrophobic.

Homely clean and thought of everything

My stay at Angel Oak left much to be desired, tarnishing what could have been a pleasant getaway. Despite prior communication with the owner via WhatsApp regarding our arrival time, our experience upon arrival was anything but smooth. Upon reaching the guest house, my husband and I were stranded outside for 10-15 minutes. Despite our attempts to call the owner, there was no response. It was only when another guest, who happened to be of a different race, called that the owner finally answered. This discrepancy in responsiveness raised uncomfortable questions. What followed was not an apology or any form of acknowledgment for the inconvenience caused. Instead, we were met with a lack of remorse and what felt like a dismissive attitude. The owner's behavior struck us as incredibly rude and unprofessional. Beyond the initial hiccup, our stay was marred by a sense of disappointment. While the guest house itself may have had its charms, the sour taste left by the owner's lack of consideration lingered throughout our visit. It's disheartening when a potentially enjoyable stay is overshadowed by such avoidable shortcomings in hospitality.

Francois was extremely accommodating and friendly, the gardens were well maintained and the breakfast that Francois prepared was great. We also felt very safe.

From the assistance to the excellent attention that I received, it was a very positive experience indeed. I can highly recommend Angel Oak Guesthouse fr anyone travelling to the Brits area.
