Canggu Bagus Guest House

Our stay at this property was very disappointing and negatively impacted our overall experience in Bali. Before arrival, I informed the hotel that our flight was delayed and that we needed help with transportation. They replied saying it was “noted,” but never contacted the driver, leaving us stranded upon arrival. I reserved two rooms. Room 2 was okay. Clean and decent for the price, so no complaints there. However, Room 1 was a disaster. It was dirty, with stained bed sheets, grayish towels that were supposed to be white, and a bathroom with a barely functioning flush. The room was also infested with ants, and their “solution” was to throw naphthalene pills around, making the air unbearably toxic. I contacted the owner via WhatsApp for help but received no reply at all. The staff member who charged me spoke very limited English and almost charged me twice. I had to show my credit card statement to prove I had already paid. After a sleepless night in a stinky room, I told the staff we couldn't take the smell anymore. Her response was: “But you don’t have ants now.” That kind of attitude was truly shocking. We decided to cut our stay short by a night, even though we still had to pay for the unused night in both rooms. The whole experience genuinely ruined our time in Bali. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this level of neglect, poor communication, and lack of hygiene deserves to be noted. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the property and service for future guests.

The facilities were so beautiful! Very spacious rooms and the staff were so lovely! Great location.

My stay was lovely, it’s a simple and clean guesthouse. They maintain the rooms in good conditions, there’s good AC, hair dryer, a safe. Would be great if there was a fridge in the room also if there’s one thing I’d add, as well as fresh bathroom towel.

The only real negative for me was the neighboring dog that would always be very aggressive and chase you down the street if you were to walk by. It was fine with bikes though.

Mostly quiet location (except for gardener, when I was trying to nap). Short walk to restaurants, cafes and massages etc. Good value for money, basic accommodation.

In room one the shower was not very warm. I reported this and was told it was fine, when it really wasn’t. Great if you like having goosebumps whilst showering, but I don’t. My friend’s shower was fine.

Location is amazing and walking distance to everything. Huge bathroom and shower area. More than enough room in the room for luggage and storage. Great pool and tanning area. Great value for money. The only reason I rate 7/10 is for the lack of sound proofing in the rooms.

These rooms are not soundproof at all. You can hear absolutely everything. I am a very light sleeper and experienced a lot of disruption during the night which is the reason for my rating.
