De Mangku

The bed and pillows were so comfortable and very clean. The room was specious and even had a private kitchenette. I loved the coffee beans in the bathroom instead of the normal smelly packets of commercial deodorants. Also each room was very sound proofed and quiet even in the early morning.

It's great to have access to a refrigerator, but it was inside the bedroom and was noisy. I think better to put it by the kitchenette on the terrace.

A cozy place where no one bothers you. Very clean, spacious room with new furniture, everything smells good, everything is new. Beautiful garden. If you are tired of noisy Ubud, you should stay here.

The room has everything I need, equipped with a kitchenette for who want to use which I rarely could see in any other accommodation. Excellent stay, friendly and fast response staff despite of low price

As an animal lover I am probably slightly biased in my review but oh gosh I LOVED the cats and dogs here! I almost cried when I had to leave them 😢 I bonded especially well with Shoki. She is the confident cat with white socks. I bought her some treats and the next thing I knew I had another cat and 3 dogs loyally waiting for me as I entered and left the flat! There is another smaller cat who is very shy but by the end of the week she allowed me to pet her :D Ok, animals aside - this place was amazing value for money! I spent the first week in Bali in central Ubud which was too hectic, so staying here was a relief. it was so nice to sit outside in the evenings amongst the greenery, and very peaceful to sit and listen to the rain. Other things to note: - The shower was hot and powerful. - The air con was cold and powerful. - The bed was super soft and comfy, which is rare for budget stays in Bali. - The kitchenette on the terrace was great for me as I love making coffee and tea and having my oats in the morning :) - Yes there are insects but you are in the middle of tropical terrain 🤣 if you keep your food wrapped there won’t be a problem. There were no insects in the bed. I also saw butterflies, dragonflies, geckos, frogs etc which I personally loved. - It is easy to get around if you have a scooter. 10-15 mins to Ubud. - There is a 24 hour gym called Fitness Plus about 10 minutes ride away which has only recently opened and it’s one of the best I have found in the area of Ubud. Also v cheap monthly rates. - I used a launderette close by called Tri laundry. All my whites including my Nike Air Force 1s came back bright and clean. I think I paid 30k for a wash and dry load. They also offered to repair a tear in my trousers! - A water dispenser is provided in the room. - Lots of storage including large wardrobe for clothes. - The room has enough space for you do to yoga if you wish. - They offered to clean the room during my stay.

- I would suggest doing a deep clean of the place every once in a while! - Brighter bulbs for the bedside lamps and outdoor kitchen light.

Everything was quite good. The apartment is located in quiet and safe place. We stayed the whole month and did not have any problems. The staff is welcoming and always ready to help. You can decide how many times you need cleaning. Quite good Wifi, which is great for remote workers. You can rent a bike there for reasonable price. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking.

Mold on the wall above closet and AC above the closet was leaking but the owner contacted a technician to come asap. It leaked a full day though a lot of water and reached some of my clothes.

De Mangku is a hidden gem! It's situated just outside the center of Ubud. The place has big bed, A/C, television with Netflix, wifi, refrigerator, patio with kitchen and garden view. It's such a nice place when you want quite time. The staff and owners were kind and helpful. For its price, I would say that it is totally worth it.

The place wasn't as pristine as in the photos. Might need some deep cleaning esp the fridge and bathroom (note though that there was a cleaner who would come everyday and this was great) and it would have better if there were kitchenwares as well (only kettle and some utensils were available). Walls could also be repainted as there were marks and cracks already and garden could have some care.
