Meiji no Okano Yado

Located next to a beautiful sunflower farm. Great hot water and water pressure. Very clean. Decent WiFi. Breakfast was amazing. Note: if you want to dine out in Biei, do make reservation ahead.

Nice cozy house. Host are very kind and breakfast and simple and delicious.

It's located in a remote place from downtown so it's hard to find a restaurant at night.

The room Is tastefully decorated, very comfortable mattress and pillow

The curfew at 9pm makes it difficult for us to go to other town to find restaurant but the nearest town Biei has only one small restaurant open, others either closed or chartered for private party. We ended up buying cup noodles from convenient store 😞

The owners are so nice and kind. We arrived late and they stayed up for us. The breakfast is excellent and is made of fresh locally harvested ingredients.

Curtains let in a bit of sun in the morning.

On a tour round Hokkaido you’re going to experience a pretty broad range of accommodation - but this was a highlight for me. The owners are a lovely and welcoming couple and the lodge is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The view of the mountains as the sun came up was spectacular. As an alternative to the urban places, and for somewhere away from the crowds in beautiful countryside this is hard to beat.

It’s really only an option if you have a car. It’s a very long walk to the nearest shops and restaurants.

Fabulous! Our hosts grew the produce and have their own hens. The warm creamy parsnip soup was my favourite offering.
