It was clean and bed was comfy. The communal space was well equipped.

Nothing major the room we had seemed quite cramped.

Clean, comfortable room with ensuite, 15 minutes walk to Ipoh town centre. Has a night market (art/craft, clothing, shoes etc) a few minutes walk away, every night from 7pm until approx 2am. 24 hr supermarket also a few minutes walk away. Safe and quiet area at night. They have a kitchen/dining area on the ground floor, complete with kettle, toaster, microwave, dishes/cutlery, a sink, water filter. They provide bread, eggs, jam/spreads, tea, coffee for a free/included basic breakfast (which you can supplement with your own fruit) It's a great place to sit and plan your day .

The lift was not working, and I had to carry my luggage up 2 floors. (No assistance from staff, as it's self check in.) I suspect that it has not worked for a long time. It wasn't a big deal for me, but could be a nuisance for some. They should declare this in their advertising.

Self service Accommodation - the communication on WhatsApp was great - fast & with clear instructions & helpful to answer questions. Rooms are average size, A/C - but really high ceiling so dont feel it to well, the lift was out of order sadly, area downstairs with jug / kitchen. The lady in the gallery office was happy to look after our bags for us before check in Door code/ safe box for key pick up/ drop off.

After some back and forth they moved us to a different hotel which was a better quality.

We had been in the room (the one with the terrace) for about ten minutes when we saw a bed bug crawling on a pillow. I caught it and brought it to reception in a trash bin. They sealed it in a bag as evidence. Reception then told us we would need to find accommodation in another hostel. This was not acceptable to us, as it was already 23:30. They also said we could not move to another room in their hostel due to their internal protocol, implying that we might have brought the bed bugs ourselves. That was clearly not possible — we had not even unpacked yet and noticed the bug within minutes of entering the room. Then they offered to spray the room with some anti-bug spray and that we would stay in the bug-infested room over night (not a chance). Eventually they booked us another room in a hotel across the street, so at least something. Btw, when we came for our stuff, there was another bed bug crawling on the bed.
