The Temple I, Mindo

We had a great stay at the Temple 1! It is a beautiful location and a well designed structure. We viewed several types of birds from the hotel including a toucan.

There was water and a bottle of wine left in the room when we arrived. We assumed they were complimentary but they were not. We highly recommend this place to stay on your trip to Mindo.

Breakfast was good location is not good unless you have a car the entrance needs some work

The condition of the road and our room had two bottles of water in it which we found out we had to pay for at a very inflated price

No hot water, cash only, 20-30mins walk from town.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was amazing, with beautiful views and a lot of space. Clean bathroom with great shower. Way worth the price.

We loved our stay at the Temple I. We were offered to upgrade our room for a small cost and had an amazing room overlooking the gardens. The room was bright and spacious. The bed was really comfortable. Hot water in the bathroom. Access to the kitchen area was useful and had a homely feel. Large balconies with hammocks and hummingbird feeders on both floors overlooking the gardens and you able to see lots of birds and wildlife. It was possible to purchase water and wine, and book tours and activities via the hotel if you wanted to. Really quick, convenient and easy washing service for $4 - all washed, clean and dry by the time we were back from our day out. Really friendly staff who are really helpful. We loved our stay here and would 100% recommend!!

It's a short walk out of Mindo- however I think that is the charm of the place being able to see lots of wildlife. The staff gave us taxi numbers which arrived within minutes when we WhatsApped them when we didn't want to walk and cost $2-3.

Mosquitoes. Not really the property’s fault!

Clean, spacious and comfortable lodge-like accommodation, big all-wooden rooms with hammocks and a terrace. We loved being immersed in the cloud forest around us, spotting hummingbirds, tanagers and agoutis from the room. It's a 15-minute walk on a dirt road to the village, but for us this added to the cloud forest experience - and there's cheap taxis if you don't feel like walking.

There's no full-time reception at Temple I, so you have to arrange check-in in advance. Also there was an issue with one of the tours we booked through Temple. They were able to resolve it on the spot, but it wasn't pleasant.
