Guest House Knarik

The Knarik family made us feel like back home despite the fact we were thousands of kilometers away. I cannot describe the hospitality they gave us, even just for one night. This is what any grandchild would want their grandparents to be. Open, nice, hospitable and kind. This is the best experience we had on this trip so far! Would love to come back and meet them again. Much love and thank you! P.s. We arrived very late but Babushka Knarik made sure we were well fed before we went to sleep. Highly recommend to taste their food, it’s amazing! (Be aware of the drinks tho, the ChaCha and their local wine hits like a bull)

it wasn't a five star hotel that had all the fuss... but an old georgian house with an old couple of owners in it, which together create a magical setting of full traditional food, chacha and an unbeatable atmosphere. although the door couldn't be closed, and the bathroom was older and in the house next door to the owners, but it didn't matter at all. it is simply Georgia that we wanted to know and that we got here, thanks you

We stopped at Guest House Knarik accidentally as dusk caught us on our way to Mestia and… it was one of the most powerful and beautiful experiences for us (me, the love of my life and his parents). Don’t expect the usual comforts of the modern Western Europe standards however for the those of you who embrace the culture and old fashioned approach it will be a journey in itself. Staying with Knarik family was like going back in time to my childhood and staying in my grandparents village house. Grandma Knarik showered us with kindness, great Georgian food, homemade wine drank from the horn with her and her husband. (We laughed whole heartedly while sharing the old Georgian traditions with our hosts). Legendary Georgian hospitality and the food full of flavour and aroma (especially morning pancakes) will live with for me forever.

The elderly lady running the place was very nice and friendly. She has prepared us a good dinner and breakfast. The place has very simple toilet located far away from the room in the garden, but we have known that from the other reviews.

The shower head was broken and it was almost impossible to haver a proper shower there. Also the door to our room was broken, we were not able to close it fully. But the worst part of our stay was locals/relatives of the owners having a party with other guests on the terrace right in front of our room the whole night until 3 am. Even after asking them nicely twice to keep it down. We came here to have a rest after hiking in the mountains and traveling long distance by car. This was very disrespectful. Also we didn't have any curtains neither nets on our windows so room full of mosquitos. Not to mention dogs barking the whole night but that was the least trouble...we all together slept maybe 3 hours so pretty much ruined the whole stay and the morning after. Maybe they should have it written in the description that this is a party place so people looking for a rest and sleep can avoid it...
