We loved EVERYTHING about our stay at Peacock Guest House. Breathtaking views of the lake, city & water palace from our room, comfy bed, large verandah & fabulous roof top restaurants. Family owned by the most gracious, heartwarming & genuine hosts, nothing is too much trouble. We watched sunrise from the rooftop & magnificent sunsets from our room. We are already planning our next visit.

Nothing to dislike.

The View and the Food, Period. Actually I wanted to tell about the cook more than the place. His name is suresh singh, very quite and passionate. Initially you'll feel why is he taking much time to prepare your order, but you'll realize once you taste them. The food was amazing, best sandwich, buttermilk, coffee and poha we ever had. Then comes the view, even though we stayed in a non lake view room, the owner Roshi was very kind to let the guests stay as much as possible at the rooftop, and the view is everything you need. Even the rooms very very clean and the washrooms too. No complimentary breakfast, but the rooftop Cafe makes it up for you. It is located extremely near to lake pichola very easy to roam around and many major attractions are at a walkable distance.

Reasonably quiet street. Lake view. Breakfast on terrace on top floor is fantastic. Excellent staff.

Payment with credit card would have been nice. Cash only. Bathroom is a bit small.

The host family were extremely helpful and friendly. Particularly when we were ill for a day, they were very attentive and they arranged a taxi to take us to Jodphur. The food in the restaurant was tasty. We had a beautiful view over the lake. It is very central for the main sights, all being within five minutes walk. The family do run cookery classes.

There was loud music from nearby rooftop bars so you need earplugs. It does stop by about 12. The room was quite small but it is an old building and there is no lift. The double deluxe room was on the 5th floor. I feel that guests would benefit from a print of house rules and services. We had to ask a lot of questions.

Everything. The house has been in the family for 5 generations and is beautiful. Roshi and his father run the place and are absolutely delightful, welcoming, informative and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable and had a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. The roof top restaurant has a stunning view of the lake, the Hindu temple and the palace and is close to all the shops and sights. The food is freshly cooked to order and delicious. We highly recommend the Peacock and would definitely stay there again.

It wasn’t a problem for us, but if you struggle with stairs, make sure you ask for a ground floor room - our room was on the fourth floor !

It’s fairly expensive for India but maybe not Udaipur.
