The location and especially the ride into / out of Betelu (we did this on a motorbike) - Amazing! The staff here were also friendly and accommodating, despite the varying levels of English that they spoke (and I really do appreciate they are not English too). The food (once available) was well priced and also fantastic. Betelu is a rustic and very pretty place to visit. 10 out of 10 for everything I've mentioned here. Even the church bell chiming every 15 minutes was honestly no bother at all, you'll soon fall asleep. We slept really well despite the church bell and traffic that I mention in the next section - We had ridden 520 miles that day however, so were gonna sleep like logs regardless!

The bathroom in our room was covered in mould as the photos show, even a painting hanging in the bathroom has mould on it, the bathroom smelt damp too - Not being overly dramatic but mould in a room is a serious health hazard and this was a massive disappointment and completely overshadowed, what would have been a very memorable stay in the most incredible location. The rest of the room was outstanding and also roomy, please please please, sort the damp / mould issue in the bathroom - It's all to do with the lack of ventilation in there, easily solved if you fitted a better / bigger / more powerful extractor fan. Because of the location of Betelu, you get a fair amount of traffic coming through and the Hotel is right on the roadside and because a lot of the traffic is motorcycles enjoying an incredible road, you do hear them. As a biker myself, I can happily confirm that the bikers riding through were respectful with their engine revs / exhaust note but a Harley riding at 10 MPH in a built up area still makes a fair chunk of noise, this is not any criticism of the Hotel, there's not really much they can do about this but I'm happy to add that once it gets dark at night, the traffic does eventually stop.
