Lavender Lane

The house is in a quiet residential area with easy and secure parking. This is a wonderful area for exploring George and the surrounds. The house had everything we needed and was well supplied with a gas cannister for cooking when load-shedding happens. Wi-fi continues to work throughtout load-shedding, a great bonus in modern SA. The hosts were unobtrusive, but there if we needed them, the perfect hosts. We would happily return to Lavendar Lane, it suited our needs perfectly. A comfortable and homely house with everything you need.

The outside area is a bit small, but we knew this from the pictures on-line; but it was still nice to have an area to sit outside and enjoy the surrounds.

I honestly can't find a reason to not give a 10/10! Gavin was very welcoming and helpful, available always and having him next door gave a safe feeling. We had an issue with some sponges for the sink and instantaneously Gavin provided us with more. He let us know about when the gardener was coming and left notes on the wall telling us if we need to leave the front gate unlocked for the gardener,which was really thoughtful to notify in that humble and non disturbing way. Lavender Lane is extraordinary, really. we were 2 people and it could fit another two but I believe even if we were 4 people it would have been great as well. First off, George is an amazing city, the people are so warm and happy to see guests, the city is well infrastructured and packed with stores for all your needs. It's worth noting that Lourie park isn't to far from the garden route mall which is a lovely place for all your shopping needs. One thing I really loved was the appreciation and thought in to the small details . There are plenty of books , nice quotes , decor, a guest book and more. All these that just make for a peaceful getaway trip. It's also worth noting the backups and support for power failures, (South Africa is in what's called loadshedding, read up about it.). A gas cylinder for cooking, gas kettle too, lights and torches that recharge, a UPS battery that keeps the WiFi unaffected, and we didn't experience issues with the fridge or hot water at all!

I think maybe more pictures on the listing would give people a better idea of the looks and facilities, and maybe whilst checking in giving more information via pictures regarding parking. All of this I am writing to Gavin for improvements I think of, but honestly I can't come up with any bad things.

Lavender Lane clean cottage and just we needed for our stay. Home away from home. Great bedding and lighting perfect. Gavin is a great host.

Loved the fact that it felt warm and cosy as we entered. It was super clean and private. The house had everything we would need for our stay. Absolutely everything. Every detail was covered. A gas stove was also provided for loadshedding. Gavin kept in touch with us via whatsapp and even provided a loadshedding schedule. Which was appreciated since we were not from the area.
