"Exceptional"

10.0

I had the most wonderful experience staying at Ubud Villa Lumbung in Bali! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the breathtaking location—surrounded by lush greenery, rice fields, and the peaceful sounds of nature. The villa itself is a perfect blend of traditional Balinese charm and modern comfort, with spacious rooms, tasteful decor, and all the amenities you could need for a relaxing stay. The level of comfort is exceptional, with a cozy atmosphere that made it feel like a true home away from home. What truly set this property apart, however, was the incredible hospitality. The host went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in Ubud with excellent service and beautiful surroundings, Ubud Villa Lumbung is the perfect choice. I can't wait to return!

"Very good"

8.0

The room is beautiful, the property is in a quiet spot surrounded by rice paddies and it feels quite remote and peaceful while still close enough to the centre of Ubud by car or motorbike. The breakfast was delicious.

There is practically no soundproofing, I could hear everything that went on in the room next door which was quite awkward.

"Bali rural bliss with very friendly host and staff"

10.0

Peaceful rural location, away from the bustle of Ubud, but only a 15 minute scooter ride away from the centre - or an hours walk down through the local village and through the rice fields. There are only a few rooms to rent so it’s not busy, and the owner is a good man. I had a house to myself. Bathing in the swimming pool was a nice way to end the day after out walking. I also loved the chairs on my balcony for reading. Scooters are there to hire (or you can rent from the village), and the staff was very helpful in helping me navigate around the region on my travels.

Nothing. Lunch and dinner are not offered, but there are some very nice cafes that can be found when out walking through the rice fields (try the path towards town, and also the ‘walk around the block’ route turning right / right / right again. Roosters are active early in the morning, it didn’t bother me

"It was a beautiful villa with an amazing staff. Far from the city center, but we knew that going in and it was nice to g"

7.0

The staff was incredibly kind and the breakfast was amazing. The villa was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at and it truly felt like a little oasis away from the busy city center. The whole vibe of the villa trumped a lot of the negatives for us.

Our room had a ton of open holes leading to outside which allowed for lots of sound into filter in, and also allowed lizards into our room (which would poop on the ground near our things). I saw other reviewers mention the family dog and the chickens outside being noisy, but I underestimated them. The noise was so loud it woke us up every day at 6am and I eventually had to buy ear plugs.

"A perfect start to our holiday"

10.0

Peaceful and friendly. Perfect distance from Ubud centre to feel like it was remote but close enough to get there in 15 mins

The only thing is the walls were quite thin between rooms so we didn’t feel like we had much privacy

"Superb"

9.0

Very secluded and in a nice quiet area of ubud but still close enough to everything to explore. Staff were very friendly and villas very cute and tropical. The breakfast made every morning loved the Balinese pancakes and French toast.

There is a dog there that is friendly however does bark quite loud and few chickens in the area that can be loud but nothing bad.

"Nice room and the house is a beautiful spot but staff could be much better"

8.0

The house is beautiful surrounded by forest and rice terraces with a good location. The swimming pool is nice too.

The staff is distant probably because their English is not good enough but also because they don't really want to discuss with the guests. Most of the Balinese we met always tried to discuss with us, even via Google translate but the staff didn't bothered. The frustrating point was the breakfast : we had asked for it to be served at 0800am as we had a tour booked at 0830am. Nothing was ready when we arrived at 0810am. We were served when we were supposed to leave. The day after I tried another strategy and went to the kitchen to order the food. When we arrived 25mn after in the reception, nothing was ready. They had not prepared anything. After discussing with the other guests, it appears they never get the breakfast ready unless you are physically waiting at your table. Also they have a noisy and aggressive dog which is not at all reassuring with small kids.

"Pleasant"

6.0

The house itself is really beautiful and authentic. The host was also very friendly and hospitable.

Unfortunately, we almost didn’t sleep, maybe for 2-3 hours instead of planned nine. The houses are quite close to the road, so you hear motorbikes very distinctly. The owner also has a dog that kept barking all night. At night someone checked in, looked around, had a shower and had a long conversation, I heard almost every word and just waited for them to go to sleep. The house is wooden and has many open holes/carvings so you basically sleep in a tent and there is no sound isolation. If there us not much to do about the dog or the road, at least please stop allowing late (after 10 pm) check in because it really disturbs other guests. I am not a pampered princess and I live in Bali myself. Frogs, roosters, occasional bikes are okay. But this was impossible to sleep in, my husband also didn’t sleep a wink. Thank you!
