Quinta de Marzovelos

Everything was great and to a high standard . Breakfast was fantastic! Easy parking. The owners and staff were great and very attentive. Good location, walking distance to the old section of Viseu.

Beautiful room in quiet location. Lovely surroundingds unfortunately the gardens have been destroyed by a worm . Comfortable bed and great shower Lovely restaurant tho didn't get to eat there. Very friendly staff Nice to have a pool

This charming Quinta offers spotless rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. Our room had recently received a new bed, and both the generous size and especially the soft mattress were a very pleasant surprise. The bathroom had also been freshly renovated, with a noticeable focus on sustainability that fitted well with the overall character of the property. One of the highlights of the stay was the owner, who took the time during check-in to share the history of the building and explain the ongoing restoration efforts. It was genuinely interesting to hear about the property’s past and the care being invested into preserving it.

The only service-related issue occurred upon arrival. We had confirmed our arrival time approximately 30 minutes beforehand (which was reconfirmed), but when we arrived, nobody answered the doorbell. We also called the provided phone number and tried the QR-code doorbell system, with the later being inactive. After waiting around ten minutes, we were fortunate that other residents arrived and were able to contact the owner using a mobile number they had. Given that we had confirmed our arrival shortly beforehand and attempted all three available contact methods, a smoother arrival process would have been appreciated. The Quinta is located around 1.5 km outside the town centre, only a five-minute drive away but somewhat too far for a comfortable walk (of which we were aware of before booking). Unfortunately, despite the more rural location, the surroundings were not quite as peaceful as we had expected: There are numerous dogs in the neighborhood, some kept in gardens or patios, and various barking could be heard both late in the evening and early in the morning. This is, of course, not something the Quinta itself can control, and the thick walls do a good job of reducing the noise, but guests who are particularly noise-sensitive may find it affects the overall experience. Breakfast is available as an optional extra, but we chose not to try it as the price, even if organic and homemade, appeared noticeably higher than what we found at several breakfast and brunch cafés in Viseu, making local alternatives seem the more attractive option.

A localização, visto que por falha do booking reservou um quarto que não existia, tendo os funcionários resolvido a situação da melhor maneira possível. Ficámos num alojamento no centro da cidade.
