Savta Homestay

Great spot at the end of the city towards Batad. The rooms are spacious with two outlets, comfy bed, there is a hot shower, a toilet with toilet seat, a little kitchen area for washing dishes or making some coffee, a big terrace with tables and a great view, and you can get wifi and towels. What makes this spot special is that Elma can book EVERYTHING for you, from transportation to and from your bus in Banaue, transport to and from Batad (keep in mind that Batad has no reception, so you might have to purchase wifi time to tell her a time you want to come back), busses to Manilla or Sagada, she can even help with making some plans for tracks and sights. We left our bags there, went to Batad for one night and returned to Savta's house to pickup our bags, a shower and it was just a very comfy experience. Also, the food made in her nephews bar (5 min walk) is delicious, so ask her about that if you want some good food, and entertainment while eating (karaoke, pool, terrace with view).

If the night will be cold, or you generally get cold quick, ask for an extra blanket. I think the temperature dropped almost 20C between day and night.

Very homely feel and host was very helpful and friendly. Additional meals were tasty. Loved our stay.

Definitely recommend! 😍 I had a great stay, Savta is very welcoming, nice and an amazing person. She sent someone to pick me up at 5am at the bus station, and let me check in early and check out late so I could rest. She prepared breakfast every morning, and organised tour guides and drivers for visits around the area. The house is clean, organised and comfortable. She even taught me to cook a traditional dessert! I had a very pleasant stay! Would come back for sure 💕

Elma is amazing, she will take care of your food, day trips, tricycles, bus bookings, anything you need. Her house is very comfortable, quiet, clean and her food tastes fantastic. I also enjoyed mingling with other guests. The homestay has only 3 rooms, so it is always calm.

The location and the helpful host.

A very cramped room with thin walls next to a shared living area. Pricey for what was more like a hostel environment.

Very clean guesthouse. A simple breakfast is included. There’s a nice little terrace with a lot of plants. Elma is very nice and organized us transportation and tours. She proposes dinner. We had nice chats and talked about her life, the homestay and local customs (Moma chewing…)

Beds are a bit small for 2 but ok, sheets and blanket also a bit small for 2x so ask for a second one.

Elma was the best host ever! We really enjoyed stay in her homestay. Everything was really clean and we had every day a hot shower and she also made us great local food :)

Extremely clean and well organised. The owner is discrete, very nice and makes everrything to make the stay perfect. Shared shower and toilet. The beds are good. Good price for the value.
