I stayed for 1 night, it was a comfortable hotel. The staff served me breakfast earlier than usual and brought it to my room.

Near Ofelia Bus Station, friendly staff, wifi available, rooftop terrace

Booking.com reservation and price unknown to the receptionist until late night, different rooms to those booked, but we agreed with the availability so no problems…

Great jumping off point for catching the Bus to Mindo in the morning (3‘ walk to la Ofelia terminal, north of Quito). Breakfast is served from 8:00 which was too late for us.

- not the safest/nicest neighbourhood without restaurants or supermarkets - small rooms, shower lukewarm - a bit cold and noisy because windows couldn‘t be closed fully

Disgusted. Not as described in ad. No view and no minibar/fridge. No where to eat. Area very unsafe. Shower not working, towels filthy, shower rail held up by tissue which collapse when shower curtain pulled aside, bedside lights not working due to unsafe electric wiring and tv not working. Area is next to bus depot where buses park for the night and head out again from 5am. Basically worst stay ever. Can provide photos if required.

I stayed at La Estacion Hostal for one night before a bus trip to Mindo. The biggest plus is the location very close to the Ofelia bus terminal (2 minute walk). The Hostal organized an airport pick-up, which worked very well. The room was large and clean. Also, there is a kettle in the room, which is a huge plus. Staff were friendly, though not always easy to locate. I would stay again for a night before catching a bus from Ofelia.

I tried to find someone working there because I couldn’t figure out how to get hot water from the shower, and I couldn’t find anyone and wasn’t sure where to look. I wasn’t a fan of the breakfast, though I appreciate that one was offered, as there are not many food options close by. The front gate is locked with a padlock, and you need to find someone to unlock it if you want to leave, though going out after dark is not recommended at least for solo female travellers.
