Papaya Guesthouse

Great compound, with great rooms. The accommodation has a very nice, rustic, coastal feel. The bathroom was the highlight for me--very tastefully furnished. Excellent location, around 15min walking distance to the beach, with restaurants, cafes, spas within close reach. The staff are very friendly, and give tips on things to do in Bali

The pool was not clean and none of the guests could swim in it. Would be nice if the bathroom was stocked with shampoo and body wash. I also found myself longing for a chair in the bedroom. The only chairs were in the balcony

The boss is very kind and warm, which warms us up the whole journey, and the service staff is also very warm. The accommodation conditions are excellent!

The location and cleanliness of Papaya is fantastic. It’s a basic guesthouse but had everything we needed. Outside of breakfast, guests can use the kitchen and there’s free drinking water. The pool area was well maintained.

As mentioned in other reviews, the beds are quite firm and the curtains don’t block out the light. There is some noise from the road but that’s Canggu for you.

Lovely stay in Papaya guesthouse. Returned again after we finished our trip in other places in Indonesia. Gaby and her staff are incredible helpful and friendly. Breakfast is nice and fresh, the best bread (darker brown) in Bali! Will definately recommend this place to all our friends and will stay again when we return to Canggu.

Breakfast was perfect. The owner (whom we had the opportunity to talk to during breakfast) made us feel at home. The bread was the best we tried in Bali, accompanied by homemade marmalade, fresh fruit, and coffee. The location is excellent — although it's on Canggu's main street, it's set back enough that there's no noise. The rooms are spacious and well-designed. You can tell it's a place that's cared for and made with love. Highly recommended.
