Angel at Bourne

I stayed here 18 months ago and had a non existent dribble of a shower, but now the new water pump has made all the difference - well done! The staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent.

I was reluctant to book again because my last stay was so uncomfortable, but had no choice. Last time I tossed and turned all night with my legs tangled in the bed clothes, as if someone had made an apple pie bed. This time I cautiously turned back the duvet, saw it was rather crumpled so pulled the bed covers right down. The bottom side of the duvet cover was piled up in a great mess in the middle of the bed, no attempt had been made to pull it down over the duvet, but the top of the cover had been smoothed out to look fine. This is obviously what I experienced last time. The person who makes the beds is both lazy and deceitful.

Location

No heating. Room was freezing cold and no one on site to speak to. I have also emailed the hotel in regards to the heating but no reply.

Very friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast, quiet room we was at back.

Room was compact but had everything, no evening restaurant.

We loved the atmosphere in what is in fact a very old building. Our room was in the part which is 350 years old. Everyone we met was very friendly and accommodating and breakfast was very good. A great place to stay if you don’t want the blandness of a modern hotel. And it is right in the heart of Bourne. But still very quiet. Really enjoyed it!
