It was wonderful being able to spend nights in an authentically traditional building with traditional rooms and furniture. It was an excellent way to explore the traditional architecture and decoration of old Zanzibar. The location is perfect. Just behind the famous praying temple and just 5 minutes to the water shores. The owner is very friendly and always eager to make your stay comfortable. The price is reasonable given the excellent location and the traditional environment. This place is a must!

I enjoyed everything from my point of view. Maybe the wifi connection would be a bit faster.

Very old and dilapidated bathroom..

I came here for the location, as I wanted to be closer to the busy old fort area. (for the night before leaving Zanzibar) It's in a old house building

It's a very simple room in the old house. Not those hotel rooms, don't expect hotel facilities. You just experience how the old house (normal people) stay in. With attached bathroom.

Location was awesome.

You get what you would expect to get for $15 per night in the centre of Stone Town on Zanzibar. No luxuries at all. BUT. Helpful staff. Hot water. Clean private toilet with free soap and towel. The air con worked although the remote was missing. The fan worked although really dusty. The beds were comfortable enough. Even a small but pleasant breakfast is included in the price. Adequate place to stay for 1 night to buy some last souvenirs before you catch a flight home.
