Central location and great price

I would never use Booking. Com Their actions resulted in the cancellation of my son’s airfare. This was confirmed by China Airlines but Booking. Com refused to to return emails or provide a refund

Location was great right in town. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating

Bed was extremely uncomfortable (mattress was extra firm). We reserved a queen bed and got two twins pushed together

The room was warm, had convenient lockers downstairs for storing ski gear. The beds were comfortable, the shower warm, and there is enough room for bags. The hotel is quite near restaurants and a convenience store, which is of course, convenient. There was a good amount of space to hang up ski gear to dry. It's fine by all accounts.

Most of this is standard fare and not the end of the world, but given what we paid and with the photos, I'd hoped for a little better. Ski towns are never cheap really. It was fine, ultimately comfortable enough, but some simple things could be done better. The room was relatively dirty on arrival which is unpleasant. It appeared to have been cleaned, but the floor was dusty, there were cobwebs around the rooms, and the towels were slightly dirty. This was mostly sorted out after the first night, but is disappointing to arrive to. The bathroom is tiny, the shower curtain doesn't reach the floor so showering soaks the entire room, and this was the only non-smart (and absolutely tiny!) toilet we encountered in any hotel in Japan. The room was pretty basic and dated, and noise could be easily heard from adjacent rooms and the entrance way. While the location is good for restaurants, it is a solid 10-15min uphill trudge to the gondola, made worse in ski boots. We stored some of our gear at Rythm, closer to the gondola, but it is still something to keep in mind, as you can only store skis/board with them, your boots and helmet have to come back with you (to the hotel) at the end of the day. There's a bus, and not many accommodations too much closer, so I wouldn't think of it as a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of.
