築100年の宿【はぶの家】

Our family stayed for three nights and had a fantastic time. The house is in a very peaceful courtyard, traditional in style but also with modern luxuries including air con in every room and a new bathroom and toilet. Our host was incredibly kind and generous. She made sure we had everything we needed, gave tips on where to go, and she also gave us a great tour (in Japanese) of the Geopark close to Mount Mihara. Highly recommended!

Our host was super friendly, the location was fantastic and the food delicious and so varied and plentiful!

I was worried my children would damage the paper screen walls and kept on reminding them to move calmly around the space!

The building is beautiful and comfortable - with plenty of space for many guests. The owner is also a very kind woman, who is happy to give advice on places to go to and see.

The wifi is a bit slow, but the area has a great signal connection.

We enjoyed a lot staying at your place. We found it beautiful and authentic and spent a very happy stay with our granddaughter. For our French Japanese family it was quite an experience. Everything was on point! Such a mesmerizing atmosphere, very comfortable, but also historical and so connected to nature! The food was beyond excellent! We liked everything, and would like to come again and again :) Thank you very much for your hospitality!

A real old-fashioned, authentic Japanese house. The hostess was very thoughtful. She provided towels, yukata and samoe to wear, toothbrushes, etc, and offered to cater dinner for our group for an additional fee with a few days advance notice (she cannot cater on the spot). We had an excellent feast. There is a small market 2 minutes away that mostly carries snacks and drinks right nearby, make sure you bring whatever you plan to cook/ eat - especially if you aren't having meals catered. For longer stays, there is a washing machine, and the kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and oils and spices for cooking.

Nothing. Things we learned: Make sure to take the bus to the Ue no Yama (上の山) bus stop and walk from there. We got off in Habu by mistake, and this meant a long walk uphill with bags.
