It was the cleanest place on earth! Bathroom smelled like flowers when I entered! Extremely nice and smiling people who will make you feel welcomed and at home. Also very save for solo female traveller, good lock in the door and even in window. I slept there like a baby, dark, quiet and comfy bed. I loved the decor of this place. I would go back gladly! They had very good Internet too! And coffe maker in the room absolutely awesome, to start making coffee first thing in the morning without having to go in the community kitchen

That I only stayed one night :( Also I came with car so for me it was no problem go to the coast of the lagoon, but honestly I would still go there even if I was on foot because it is so much better to stay with nice Mexican family in clean, beautiful environment than at those loud, dirty places by the "beach"

Really nice and friendly hosts. The inner courtyard is very atmospheric. The wifi was working great!

Lack of hot water in the shower.

The owners are so sweet, Antonia brought me fruit and gave me a lift. The room is clean and has everything you need!

An incredibly charming family welcomed us, and we immediately took them to heart... and I believe they did the same with us. Even though we speak only a few words of Spanish and they don't speak English, we got along well. Whenever we needed help or had questions, they were immediately ready and incredibly hospitable. Here, you live together and get to see what the "local life" is like. There's a communal kitchen for guests, a rooftop terrace for relaxing, and even a water refill station. The rooms are simple and functional. Another plus is that in the morning, you can hear a wonderful concert of birds upon waking up; the jungle is right next door. Simply marvelous, we felt very comfortable here and would come back anytime.

Large room, warm and helpful host, comfortable beds. It is overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel (actully more like the host's home with cortile and many rooms) is located at the edge of Bacalar town in the suburb area. Such loacation might not be preferred by everyone.

The water pressure in the shower is not great. The location is a bit far from the center and you'll need a car to go back and forth, crossing the busy main street/freeway going though the city each time.

It’s a beautiful property and Carlos and his family are lovely, and very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice, with a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, good A/C and good wifi. The shared kitchen is well stocked and drinking water is provided.

The water pressure in the shower is very low and it takes a very long time for hot water to emerge.

A simple but pleasant and relaxing place run by a welcoming and friendly family. We stayed in the large upstairs room with its own terrace area. Excelkent WiFi, and air-con.The communal kitchen was well-equipped and functional. Overall, a laid back, low key place which we enjoyed. All the usual Bacalar activities are within walking distance (or by the ever-present taxis).

People were very friendly and helpful. Got my laundry done. Room was large and bed comfortable . Good air con and wifi. Area was a little outside town but I enjoyed the walk. Taxi to centro only 50 pesos
