Nil Menik Villa

If you are looking for a busy hotel Nil Menik Villa is not for you, very quiet only 4 bedrooms. We felt it was our own private villa most of the time as we had 2 rooms. Lovely pool, whole villa well maintained and clean. The food was good and everything cooked to order, so we gave our dinner preferences at least an hour before, which wasn’t a problem If like us you have done a whirlwind tour of Sri Lanka IMO this is the perfect place to chill before the long flight home.

The guy who waited at table was very nice and helpful but he did have a tendency to stand near the table and watch us eat, which we found slightly uncomfortable

Beautiful property right by the beach. Mendis and Jayantha (sorry if I got the spelling wrong), were very hospitable and we hung out and watched some sports together in the evening. The food was excellent, it was really peaceful and a nice place to end my Sri Lanka travels.

The villa is beautiful place to spend a quiet holiday with your family and friends. It’s located next to the beach with beautiful views. The place is simple , clean and offers serene vibes. The pool is excellent and the rooms though basic were neat and clean. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. They looked after us with lots of cheer and enthusiasm. Will surely recommend the place to our friends and family.

The villa is absolutely perfect, the rooms were clean and the pool was spotless. We had the whole place to ourselves for two days as no other guests and it was just what we needed. The beach is a short walk and is beautiful. You can’t swim right outside the house but 500m up there is a place to swim. We were recommended food places to go by the two guys running it and they were just perfect. The breakfast was lovely and they accommodated for our needs. The two guys were so so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. They never stop smiling. It was a pleasure to stay here and if we could have extended our trip we would have done.

The villa and surroundings very beautiful, pool was clean and warm. Everything was nice and clean, well organized. Mendis and Jayantha took very good care of us. They cooked us fantastic breakfasts and dinners :). The beach was few steps away. Ocean warm, nice palm trees.

Everything! Beautiful house, garden and pool situated nearby the beach. The sound of waves in the garden is very peaceful. Smaller details are considered, eg mattress on sun beds, several towel types. Highly flexible and caring hosts - thank you for driving us around and cooking great food! They did their upmost for our satisfaction, and we actually extended our stay from 1 to 4 nights. Highly recommendable! One note on turtle nesting: very possible and easily accessible from the villa. Please, be a good tourist and respect the turtles. That means 1) do not disturb with white lights, 2) keep silent, and 3) don’t touch them! (Bacteria may kill them and other turtles). Regarding hatcheries, find a place that releases babies within 1 (max 2) days of hatching - otherwise, they have minimal chance of surviving according to National Geographic

Safe, clean and the staff were excellent. Catering was superb.
