Enchanted Escape

This was a very comfortable overnight stop after catching the ferry from Wellington. It was easy to find and I appreciated having breakfast provided - cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast and jam, tea and coffee. There was a nice outdoor space I didn't get to use, and likewise a bar area that looked like a cosy space for a couple to relax.

Space in the bathroom is a bit restricted but still very useable. A bit more light when walking around the house in the dark would be appreciated.

Only one set of washing machine/drier. Made it difficult on a cold wet day

Room was convenient for centre of town and ferry without being too close.

Die Unterkunft liegt in Laufdistanz zur Innenstadt von Picton. Parkplatz auf der Strasse vor der Tür. - Sehr freundlicher und persönlicher Empfang. - Das Zimmer sehr plüschig eingerichtet, es hatte Charme. Kleines Bett (Queensize), für uns etwas eng und zu weich, nur eine Bettdecke. Die Bettdecke viel zu dick für den Sommer. Wir schliefen nur unter dem Laken. - Kleine Küchenzeile, wo man sich selber das Frühstück zubereitet mit Toast, Butter, Konfitüren, auch Müsli, Cornflakes etc. -

Die Bettwäsche war muffig und die Bettdecke zu dick. Sehr kleines Bad mit enger Dusche und Toilette. Kein Abzug.

Das ist die liebevollste Unterkunft die wir auf unserer Reise hatten, sowohl von der Einrichtung als auch Gastgeberin. Lisa hat uns sozusagen "gerettet" und uns die Möglichkeit der Fährüberfahrt auf die Nordinsel organisiert, als die gebuchte Fähre kaputt ging. Sie hat uns auch nochmal nach sehr langer Wartezeit an der Fähre die Möglichkeit gegeben uns auszuruhen... ohne sie wäre unser Urlaub im Desaster geendet. Ganz herzlichen Dank an Lisa und absolute Empfehlung!!!

Continental breakfast . Preprepared in room. Adequate and to our taste. Enjoyed the whole ambience and character of the room and the garden with lots of features. Loved the Irish themed byo "Shebeen" .

Bathroom functional for us but on the small side.

Owner was adorable. We only stayed one (rainy) night and didn’t have time to use the bar that we had to ourselves. The place is as the photos tell, very thoughtfully decorated but practical to use. Bed is comfortable and the place is quiet. Bathroom is indeed narrow, but wasn’t an issue for us. There was more than enough food (cereal, yoghurt, bread, jams etc…) for the breakfast

Super friendly hosts and a beautifully presented property made for a delightful 1 night stopover. It lived up to its name and truly was an enchanting place to stay with so many extras provided and lovely attention to detail. The hot spa was an absolute delight on a wet and stormy night outside.,
