⚠️ Strong Warning – Do NOT Stay at AOTERA Lodge ⚠️ My experience at this lodge was shocking and dangerous. I strongly advise against booking here. • Fraud on the First Night: Instead of staying at AOTERA Lodge as advertised, I was placed in a small, dirty hotel on the main island where the toilet was broken and there were cockroaches. That hotel costs around €30, but I was charged €114 – simply because AOTERA Lodge was overbooked. I only found this out later. • Life-Threatening Incident with the Captain: When I finally arrived at AOTERA Lodge, I needed the hotel’s boat to get to the main island. The boat left very late, and when I asked if they could call my tour operator, the captain completely lost control. He was clearly drunk, shouted at me, threatened me, and even brandished a knife. I was alone in the boat and feared for my life. Out of fear, I jumped into the water and swam to an island. On my way back, the captain repeatedly followed me, shouted at me, and showed me his knife again from a distance. I had to hide in the bushes for hours. I later reported this incident to the police in Rangiroa. • Unacceptable Refund Policy: After this terrifying experience, I demanded to leave immediately. At first, the owner refused to refund me. In the end, he gave me a tiny bit back but insisted on keeping the rest as supposed “booking.com fees.” 👉 Conclusion: This place is not only dishonest but also dangerous. Broken rooms, fraud, drunk and aggressive staff, threats with a weapon – and in the end, you are still cheated out of your money. I truly feared for my life here. Please do not book this lodge – your safety is at risk.

Le cadre est magnifique, petit déjeuné très correct dommage d'avoir à peine 10-15 minutes pour déjeuner avant le départ le matin, les repas sont de très bonne qualité.

Connexion Wifi inexistante dans les bungalows (trop loin), pas d'eau chaude pour les douches, les espaces communs ont été utiliser en permanence par la famille des gérants, très difficile de pouvoir s'installer sur les canapés pour profité du wifi. Le motu est très éloigné (trop de bateau matin et soir ) pour faire des activités facilement. L'entretien général est négliger, un camion en décomposition au milieu du site, des poubelles partout derrière le restaurant dans la nature, les bungalows sont très impactés par la corrosion, les dalles béton s'effritent, porte qui ont du mal à fermés, robinet même pas fixés... On nous demande de payer les frais de pensions en fin de séjour, sans aucune note détaillée, on nous demande de payer une certaine somme sans aucun reçu. J'attends toujours, 2 mois après, le detail par mail comme promis...

Le lieu est sublime. Le motu est situé à 25 minutes du village principal d’Avatoru en bateau. C’est d’autant plus appréciable de trouver un site comme celui ci car le village principal ne présente pas grand intérêt (pas de belle plage, etc). C’est quasiment désert et très calme. Le motu n’est habité que par la pension (il n’y a pas de supérette) Les bungalow sont simples mais fonctionnels, bien disséminés dans la cocoteraie. Nous avions vue sur le lagon, c’était exceptionnel. L’équipe en place est très accueillante, sympathique et serviable. Les repas sont simples mais bons et très copieux. On a pu utilisé la Va’a (pirogue) il y en a plusieurs en libre service. Steeve,l’un des membres de l’équipe nous a donné de bon conseils pour l’utiliser ! La plage est bien nettoyée.

Les salles de bain et certains équipements mériteraient une petite rénovation. L’eau froide / tiède (quoique pas si désagréable avec la météo !) Les moustiques (prévoyez de la crème et des spirales !) La houle lors du retour en bateau ;) Ceci dit les enfants ont adorés

Le site paradisiaque

The beach on the island was excellent! You can feel like on your private island. Service by the owner (pick-up from the airport, communication on booking, drop off to the airport) was really nice.

MOSQUITOES! Extremely bad! They were everywhere! Definitely not normal situation... we didn't see this on others islands of Tuaomutu. Very bad technical conditions of the cabins. For example you can not open the door smoothly... Dinners was good but we ate every day the same meal on the breakfast (2 person: 2 pieces of the bread, 2 pancakes, 2 pastery, kiri, butter, jam... NO ham, cheese, eggs, vegetable, fruit ... etc.).
