An authentic great experience. In the middle of a small beautiful town, you find this unique place with a great history behind it (100 years ago, merchants already stayed there and now it is modernized but keeps its soul). Breakfast was excellent, all products of great quality. The hosts were very welcoming, kind and interesting, we had nice talks.

The place was very nice, clean and big. They gave us all the amenities that you can have in a five stars hotel. The breakfast was very abundant, fresh and delicious. Mario and his wife were very attentive, we arrived 2 hours later and he was waiting for us. He gave some souvenirs from Oporto, the place where they are originally. He also explained to us the wine process from the area. We wished to stay more time but we had to go to the Lisbon airport next day. If we come back to Portugal, we will stay there again definitely.! The owners are great! I really enjoyed my stay, I arrive late, the restaurant nearby had closed so they offered me a delicious bottle of local red wine to make up for the fact I had no dinner but I had said I didn't actually want dinner so that was sweet. Breakfast was impeccable, I had some lovely chats with the owners, they are very kind and very knowledgeable about their beautiful building and its history in the village, just lovely! And the beds were super comfy, luxurious and the rooms, very spacious and the temp could be changed easily :) Thank you so much for my stay, I loved it!!

From first impression, when Mario and his wife welcomed us on the street outside, assisting us for where to park the car (which was safely inside their walls) and showing our room, to the breakfast whith home made orange juice, cake from their bakery and local fruit and cheese. They had thought of all details, both regarding how they have renovated the building to our experience. The room was big, clean and comfortable beds.

Nothing was bad actually.

Hands down, this is by far the BEST accommodation we could have wished for! Mario & Maria are the most incredible, attentive hosts imaginable. Everything from the minute I booked, was perfect.😃 Mario sent me friendly, welcoming messages following booking and subsequently communicated with me really well prior to our arrival, even giving me advice about places to eat prior to our arrival. I was travelling with a group of friends, needing an overnight stay and parking for 5 motorcycles. Mario provided free secure parking for our motorbikes, which was wonderful as it meant us not having to unload all the luggage (see photo)! 😃 The property is absolutely stunning. Beautifully decorated and everything has been thought through... even down to things like the free provision of fresh bottled water and glasses in each room, and having plenty of hooks available in the bathroom (including right by the shower door). Our rooms were fantastic (our triple room had the third bed up above with its own patio area). All rooms were awesome. Fantastic showers! Really well-illuminated mirrors, toiletries provided, including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and shower caps! The beds were super comfortable with wonderful pillows. Everything was perfect! Maria even put slippers and dressing gowns in the rooms. It felt like we were staying in a 7 star hotel! The breakfast was incredible - all beautifully presented in a really lovely room. Homemade cakes and breads, jams, assorted cheeses, a variety of different meats, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious coffee and a good selection of different tea. Both Mario and Maria are such lovely people to chat to, so helpful and genuinely interested in their guests. We would not hesitate returning here and would highly recommend to anyone who fancies a real treat without it costing an absolute fortune. If I could give this accommodation more stars I would, because they truly are MORE than exceptional! 😁

The place is quite remote, so there's no supermarkets, restaurants, etc. nearby. But this was expected anyway and not a problem, since you get here by the car most probably anyway.
