Villa Shantiasa Bali

location, the view, staff

1 room smells damp, AC was not cold enough to ease the smell the other room got strange sound. staff told that it could be the pump? mie goreng, noodles were not well-cooked pool water was too much chemical, smells very strong

The view from top floor was lovely. The staff were excellent all of them. Breakfast choices were good and plenty of choices. Other meals from their small restaurant were always good. Even gave us room service which was terrific as I was unwell. The pool and surrounds also lovely.

Dogs barking at night.

The views from our room and balcony were exceptional. The infinity style pool also had an amazing outlook. The staff kindly offered a ride to the local ATM, for which we gave a tip. Indra arranged a great two hour rice paddy walking tour that left on foot from the Villa and arrived back at the villa with local guide Goman. We were so appreciative of his local knowledge.

The location

Booked for 7 nights, left after 3. The property is for sale and it shows. Shabby linen and little availability of anything. An extra bottle of water please - no. First aid kit for a damaged knee - no. Chilli sauce for the nasi Goreng- no. I unwittingly stained a hand towel whilst eating mangosteen and was told off as if I was a naughty child. The last straw was being given a plastic top sheet and when we complained we were actually laughed at. I have been coming to Bali for 46 years and am used to smiling, friendly helpful people. I don't know what pressure the staff are under from management, but they are not the slightest bit friendly

The rooms are great, staff is very accomodating

The endless barking dogs, rabid dogs roaming the street outside and attacking and threatening guests. The ongoing loud motorbikes disturb any sense of peace. The very badly illuminated garden is not accessible at night without breaking a foot or leg. The overgrowth blocked the view over the valley. The very poor cooking standard both for breakfast and dinner dishes.

No fan in bathroom / No fridge, kettle Street Noise

Large very comfortable room with a spacious bathroom. Nicely decorated and very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious breakfast with 3 set options to choose from. Beautiful view of the valley from the balcony. Restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.
