Double G Motel

The room I was given had a good size, a comfortable bed with a mosquito net on top, a small kitchen and a good sized bathroom. The host was very lovely and welcoming, however the room I was given had a strong mold smell, making it difficult to breathe and sleep. On the second night, I couldn’t enter my room because the already difficult-to-use lock completely jammed. I spent 45 min trying to reach the owner—calling on WhatsApp and knocking on the door—before he responded and opened the door with a master key. I understand that this can happen and it wouldn't have left a weird aftertaste, if not during check-out, the lady of the house had not tried to overcharge me, asking for a higher price than what was listed in my booking. Only after a brief discussion was I allowed to pay the originally agreed price. When I mentioned the mold smell, it was dismissed with the response: "My room smells like that too, it's just the climate." Even if it's a budget accommodation, I should not be exposed to mold in the room.

Very friendly and helpful owner. Excellent location near beach and restaurants. Clean ensuite room with mosquito net. Fast wifi and desk in room. Great value, undeserved low rating.

I liked the hospitality of the hosts, they helped us with everything and even prepared us a meal:) The apartment is close to the beach, stores and restaurants. The wifi was really good.
