The only real positive was the location, which was fantastic and very convenient.

Communication from the owner was poor throughout the stay. The property was not clean and felt poorly maintained. There were no curtains or proper window coverings, which meant the room was extremely bright very early in the morning and stayed bright until late at night, making it impossible to block out light. Electrical sockets in the bedrooms were hanging off the walls, and this was also the case in the bathroom, where there were exposed wires and loose fittings, which felt unsafe. The bathroom had a constant smell of urine and the floor was often wet due to water spreading after showers, with no proper management of the wet areas. The hand towels supplied were not big enough, and not suitable for a shower. The beds are uncomfortable. Mattresses are pretty disgusting, when you strip the sheets off. The main door to the apartment does not lock. Anyone can enter. 3 other rooms all sharing the same kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen facilities were very limited. The kettle did not work, and there was no oven, microwave, or toaster, only a hob available for cooking. The windows appeared to have been painted over and did not close properly, which meant noise from outside came through very easily. There's a light with nowhere to plug it in. The property is located above a very busy bar strip, so there is loud noise until around 4 or 5 in the morning, followed by street cleaners and early morning activity starting again from around 6, which made it very difficult to sleep. While the other 3 double rooms in the property appeared more presentable, the quadruple room was scruffy and in need of renovation and general upgrading to meet a reasonable standard.
