Chalet Escapade with Sauna

It was in the Durmitor national park

Staying at the chalet wasn't a great experience. Where to start. The accommodation was cramped. The bedrooms had no room for drawers or wardrobes so your clothes had to remain in your bags. The “stairs” to the bedrooms was a very narrow glorified ladder. The floor with the sauna (unused by us) was not practical to use at night in the dark. As it was outside and down some stairs (unlit until I asked how to turn on the security light, my wife fell down the last few stairs the first night in the dark). The cooker was dirty and the oven/grill didn't work. To their credit they got someone out to fix it on a Sunday. The lighting was poor. Most of the ceiling lights were bare bulb holders wired directly to the twin and earth cable coming through the ceiling. There were a few faults: the log burning stove was unusable as it emitted a lot of smoke. I thought it was odd that the smoke alarm didn't go off but it was because the alarm had no battery and was not wired to the mains. The basement sauna level smoke alarm had a battery but was not connected. The sauna level toilet bowl was very very loose , virtually not connected to the floor. When we arrived the outside table had an overflowing ashtray on it. On the positive side the host was very responsive, for example  I was able to find out what the code for the sauna level key lockbox was as it was no where else noted. The host was very friendly and responsive so I'm guessing there was no cynical malign intent rather just a lack of care and attention.

Gorgeous alpine cottage. Everything we needed, easy walk to Black Lake and to restaurants and supermarket . Wonderful hosts, had a fire going when we arrived as temp had dropped to 9 C .Baked us a delicious cheese pie and gave us fresh picked raspberries, very generous and kind

Tolle ruhige Lage am Rand von Zabljak und kurz vor dem Zugang zum Schwarzen See. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und im Wesentlichen ist alles da, was man braucht. Die Sauna ist unten im Erdgeschoss und funktioniert gut, wird aber max. 80 Grad heiß. Die Restaurantempfehlung der Vermieterin war Izvor) war super, am Wochenende sollte man reservieren, da es sehr beliebt ist. Wir sind dort viel gewandert (Savin Kuk, Bobotov kuk, Prutas, Schwarzer See), waren auch im Vrazje Jezero schwimmen - die Landschaft dort ist einfach unglaublich schön und ich werde auf jeden Fall nochmal dahin reisen.

Die Küchenausstattung war sehr sparsam: keine Möglichkeit Kaffe zu kochen wie z.B. French Press, keine wirklich scharfen Messer, nur 2 Töpfe. Da wir abends immer im Restaurant waren, war es kein Problem, aber wenn man hier was anderes als Nudeln kochen möchte, wird es schwierig. Die fehlende Duschabtrennung haben ja schon mehrere angemerkt. Wir haben es so gelöst, dass wir beim Bad oben in der Wohnung die Dusche nicht genutzt haben (um nicht das ganze Bad unter Wasser zu setzen) und zum Duschen nach unten in den Saunaraum gegangen sind.

Perfect sauna to spend time with friend after hard day in mountains

Beautiful little chalet a few minutes walk from the centre of town, restaurants and supermarket. The property has a well kept garden and a useful parking space. The black lakes can be visited on food from the chalet, about 30 minutes. Shower is nicely hot and the downstairs living is a good size and can accommodate a family. The house is very well equipped with all one would need.

The toilet had an awful drain smell that persisted during the entire stay. A shower door would be useful not to wet the entire bathroom. The matters on the double bed is of a too cheap quality and the springs dig in one’s bones when asleep.
