Braeview Guest House

We recently spent 2 nights at Braeview Guest House. While I had reserved the cottage, we were given the 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment on ground level of the friendly owners’ home. The location was very convenient to New Harbour, from which we took a whale watching excursion. It was also close to the beautiful Cliff Path. This lovely walking trail has benches set along the way so you can stop and enjoy the view. I am under the impression, however, that it is now rare to see whales from the path. Since bathrooms in South Africa have no electric outlets, I liked that in a nice bright bedroom, there was an electric outlet near a dresser with a mirror so I was able to do my hair. This was a rarity in South Africa. My husband particularly appreciated the invigorating shower! The home was clean and there is a security beam around the property. Enjoy your stay.

It is important to note that the house sits on a corner and the entrance is not on the street with the given address. There is a sign out front but it was easy to miss.

I never made it to the guest house because it was closed, I called the number on your page and it's not working. I had to find other alternatives and ended up booking at How Hoek hotel with my partner. Why accept a booking when you know it's closed and not available? I want my refund, this service is not acceptable.

The fact that a booking was accepted whereas the owner knew that they were closed. One is not supposed to even go as far as to pay for accommodation if it's not available.

the location is excellent for going to catching the early whale watching boat.
