The Haven

The Haven worked out perfectly for our overnight stay in Wales. We traveled by train from London to Holyhead, and the host, Sian, provided a pick-up service at the train station for a nominal fee to get us to her guest house, and she also allowed us to check in early. She was very helpful in pre-booking an early-morning taxi to the ferry terminal for the ferry we needed to catch to Dublin the next morning. She also provided a to-go breakfast the night before (for another nominal fee). The guest rooms are on the second floor, so you need to be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. Not a problem for us, but be prepared. The location was within walking distance of several places to eat, and there was a great pub just two doors down. My husband walked down to the Maritime Museum and learned more about Holyhead.

We think there might have been mold on the face of the showerhead, but we didn't have a chance to tell our hosts because we left early the next morning. My husband ran his hand across it, and a black residue was on his hand.

Loved the character in the property. We stayed in room 6 and it was extremely clean and well thought out.

Could use some block out blinds, with a very late sunset and early morning sunrise for those not use to the late sunset was tough to get to sleep at a reasonable hour!

Sian and Phil were very friendly and made us feel at home. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s very close to the ferry and easy walking distance to pubs and restaurants

Nowhere to park on site. All full.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, bathroom quite large with a view. Friendly hosts.
