The owner was amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough. I arrived by motorcycle and I could park it in the garage. Dinner and breakfast was really good and plentiful.

A beautiful place to stay. Such a kind family and perfect mountain location. I’m am bicycle touring Morocco and this was my favourite place to stay. I will return to Morocco on a few months and I will stay with these kind people again.

I definitely recommend this place for those who want to experience staying directly in a local home and enjoy shared moments, even if just for a short while. The host is certainly hardworking, communicative, and accommodating. The rooms are in a standard style, with hot water running. The Wi-Fi worked fine. Parking is available directly in front of the accommodation. The common room is lovely and, most importantly, well-heated. The hostess is very charming and an excellent cook—the food was outstanding. Breakfast was also very good. Considering the price, quality, and the location in the mountains, I would definitely recommend this place. I would have given it 10 points if the cold in the room hadn’t lowered my overall rating.

Mr. Bassou certainly wants to expand his accommodation capabilities -its great, but it seems that, perhaps for this reason, he tries to save wherever possible. However, he should definitely provide a heating unit in our room upon arrival (or only at night), as other accommodations did for us during the cold season. Sleeping under blankets in winter was fine, but in the morning, the room temperature was close to freezing, and our clothes were so cold that when we put them on, it took us half a day to warm up. The price for dinner was also somewhat inflated. Due to these details, I have to rate the stay as "good" and definitely not "excellent."

We booked very last minute as it became dark and we did not want to continue our drive. We were almost out of cash so booking.com was our only option. We booked 5 minutes before we arrived but Mr and Ms Bassou still managed to receive us with warm fire, tea and snacks. Even though it was late they offered to make us dinner (it was already 19:30). They served us a delicious meal at 22:00, this says something great about their hospitality and wonderful personalities. The breakfast was also really tasty and generous!! I think even the best on our trip so far. We felt very welcomed by them. It is a beautiful home and an even better experience. It was a really good and warm experience to stay at Maison Chez Bassou. Definitely recommended.

The Bassou family were absolutely lovely to stay with! We were a group of seven international travelers passing through Agoudal on the "Monkey Run" (event by the Adventurists). We were driving tiny motorcycles across Morocco for seven days, and drove up Dades Gorge the day we stayed with them. A few of our friends fell behind after dark on the mountain road, and the family drove up looking for them to make sure they arrived safely. Once everyone arrived, the Bassou family were gracious hosts, who cooked great food, and even jammed out with some traditional Berber music at the end of the night. The kids were super cute, and the owner showed me his interesting collection of meteorites and coins that he had found. They also had ample safe parking for all of our motorcycles, and helped us find gas in the morning (in a town with no gas stations). Lovely experience with wonderful people.

The accommodations are rustic and barebones. This was fine for me, but some might not like it. The night we stayed, they didn't have enough water for us to take showers (there were drought conditions and limited water), so we decided to hold off til our accommodation the following day. It was also relatively cold inside, but they started a lovely wood fire in the dining room to keep us warm.
