The grounds are beautiful filled with palms and orchids of every colour, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed, the pool was very pretty, it was quiet and calming and the food was amazing 10/10 highly recommend!

There was nothing to dislike. Everything was stunning I will return with my family soon.

Your host, Betty, is a force of nature, a wonderful ambassador to Jamaica, Kingston and its history and culture. The house and grounds -- with beautiful tropical trees, plants, pool and abundant birds -- so peaceful and beautiful. Betty also raises and sells orchids which add to the beauty. Located in one of Kingston’s prosperous neighborhoods and easily walkable to supermarket, restaurants and banks. Easy to Uber wherever you might want to go during normal Uber hours or your great host, Betty, can arrange a taxi ahead of time. Betty also provides breakfast coffee and local fruit and made us the Jamaican national dish, ackee and saltfish!

My wife and I loved it all but you’re staying in someone’s wonderful property oriented to rent out rooms. It’s not a hotel with a restaurant or all inclusive resort so just keep that in mind. If you want a beautiful experience and exposure to Jamaica, the Orchid Cottage is for you.

Orchid Cottage is the perfect place to stay in Kingston. It is located in the best part of town, which is very safe, green, and clean. Nearby, you’ll find shopping malls, stores, and excellent restaurants. Everything is easily accessible, and even getting to the mountains is quicker compared to other parts of the city. If you’re interested in Dancehall and street dancing on Monday nights, this location is also convenient for traveling to and from the events with Uber. Various public transport options are just a few hundred meters away on foot. The accommodation is set in a beautiful mansion surrounded by a stunning orchid garden, a swimming pool, and fruit trees—an oasis in the heart of Kingston. The rooms are spacious and bright, with mosquito nets on all windows, air conditioning, cooking facilities, a comfortable bathroom with good water pressure, and a cozy bed. The rooms are exceptionally clean, rivaling or even exceeding the standards of four- and five-star hotels. Most importantly, the hostess, Betty, is an absolutely wonderful person. She will guide you to exciting events in Kingston, recommend the best places to eat and shop, and prepare delicious Jamaican meals. These are the unique, personal touches you’ll never find in a star-rated hotel.
