Casa do Sal

The accommodation and its location were fantastic. Just a few meters away from the sea. A direct view of the sea in front, and looking behind, one can directly see Mount Pico, the volcanic mountain. The house was very clean. The kitchen had everything one would need. There were several capsules available for the Nespresso machine (including decaffeinated ones). There's a large refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Independent check-in was facilitated, and they were quick to respond to questions. If needed, laundry can be picked up and washed (no washing machine available in the house). If desired, one can use the barbecue area in front of the house. There are ample parking spaces in front of the house. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which was great. There's also a TV, though it's not visible in the photos. Note: One should consider renting a car and doing the main grocery shopping in a bigger city beforehand. There are small stores nearby, but they are somewhat pricier. However, we can definitely recommend the Cafe/Restaurant CAMPO RASO, which is about a 15-minute drive away.

Perfect spot zu explore the island. Between Madalena and Lajes, the natural pool nearby is really nice and the view from the terrasse extraordinary with the pico at the back. We could watch dolphins from the terrasse. The father of the host who was taking care of the house was really nice and helpful. There was Coffee, tea, water and milk waiting for us.

The door to the terrasse is quite strong to open and there are no windows in the sleeping rooms to open at night time for fresh air, only a door (which we did not want to let open because of the cats etc).

Fantastic country house

Please get rid of that terrible bed in the main bedroom, and buy a new, proper wide bed that actually fits 2 people, and where you can sleep properly.
