The guesthouse is a beautiful little building very close to the petite chateau which was perfect for us attending a wedding It’s clean and welcoming. Breakfast was freshly served with help yourself to cereals ect

The beds weren’t the most comfortable I’ve slept in

The property was very clean, staff were very friendly we would definitely be visiting again. The location was close to the venue the reason for visiting and the area around is lovely

Good location homely place..

Nice homely property with a well tended outside area, great views overlooking the hills…Only issues we had were minor and didn’t spoil our stay.. The shower tray had a crack in it.. skirting boards in bathroom a bit dusty.. nothing too major .. There were problems with the heating due to weather issues and were waiting on a plumber to go fix it. Proprietor had put oil heaters in the rooms which warmed up quickly and took the chill off.. We had problems with the electricity in our room, had gone off, the proprietor Darren, was very accommodating and had Hazel - who lives onsite- to come and sort it out which she did. I think Hazel also did the breakfasts which were excellent! All in all a really nice stay 😃

The location was good for a wedding at Woodhill Hall although you'd still need to drive or taxi to this venue as it's a rural location with no streetlights or footpaths

Butternut was such a disappointment. There were a catalogue of problems including a shower that could not be used due to a broken thermostat resulting in boiling hot water. The toilet seat was broken and wobbled about when sat on. The metal bathroom bin lid was covered in rust. There is no blind/net just curtains in our room facing the street at ground level which meant passers by could see fully into the room unless you kept the curtains closed. The room and lounge area was freezing as the central heating boiler was broken. A provided plug in radiator was inadequate and then a power cut on the last morning meant we had no option but to leave very cold and unwashed at 8am without breakfast. Extremely poor stay
