The Dream House

A really beautiful place! The family it’s so lovely and nice, I felt warmly welcome right away. The breakfast was just amazing! Actually wanted to stay one night but stayed 4 at the end and it won't be the last time!

The team of Dream House has really made our vacation. It was our first trip to Sri Lanka and we needed a lot of advice and they were always there to help. Any inquiry we had, they helped us and really went an extra mile every time. The place itself is such a vibe with a beautiful garden and all the colonial era furniture. The breakfasts were amazing and we were happy that we could have breakfast when we got up, so we didn't have to get up too early in the morning to make it to the breakfast. Overall it was a great experience and I'd stay there again for sure.

If you have sensitive sleep, keep in mind that if your room faces the garden, there will be birds, squirrels and other animals making some noise in the morning. But the garden itself is so beautiful that honestly it's worth it.

It’s on yadehimulla Road which is right behind the beach road and it’s a five min walk to the main Unawatuna beach. There are plenty of shops around. It’s safe and ideal for solo, family and friends. Breakfast is included and it’s a decent spread. It’s quite a well-known property so getting there from anywhere is not a problem. They helped us get a cab to the airport and that was convenient. If you are travelling directly to Unawatuna from the airport, they will arrange for a pick up. The rooms are clean and spacious if you take the ones on the first floor which has a balcony.

This is coming straight from experience and is specifically for Indians who would want to book this place. The caretaker and his family are nice people but there is a subtle bias towards people from Western countries. Every time we would ask them to prepare dinner for us there was hesitation even though we were okay to pay for it. There was an indication from their end that we can’t afford it, which is judgmental and mildly racist. They always said they will discuss it with us and then prepare whereas they were preparing dinner and offering high-end beverages to other guests without them asking for it. You will see this happening every time you make a request for tea or coffee too. Of course they prepared a dinner for us after several requests, which was delicious. It would be really nice if they would provide for a kettle and coffee and tea sachets in the room so that there is no confusion. We also had a problem with the faucet that they did not resolve.

Everything was superb! That’s definitely the best value for such not overwhelming price. Hosts are amazing, so welcoming! We had amazing time with our family. Unawatuna is beautiful, but this place helped us to feel right at home. Hosts helped us with transfer, with finding places to have dinner. We also ordered a dinner in the guest house, it was amazing! Fresh and delicious. We even forgot something in our room and they were so kind to organise the pick-up!

Beautiful hotel and hosts were super friendly, it left me wanting to stay longer. Everyone is friendly in Sri Lanka but at this hotel, this family is just amazing! They gave me everything I needed and helped me with all my requests. I even fell asleep for breakfast because of the World Cup matches finishing at 4 am, but he was so nice that made breakfast for me even at 11. It was delicious by the way, and very filling. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. I would defo return to this hotel when i come back to Sri Lanka

Great accommodation with very good breakfast. One of the best meals of our trip. The family is super warm and helpful. We felt very comfortable and can only recommend the accommodation.
