Perfect location.

A little bit overpriced

Loved the staff, so helpful :)

Very friendly owner made us feel right at home. The rooms had comfy beds, were a good size and had decent fans and AC. If you go to Unawatuna Flamingo is a great option. Not fancy but very homely and welcoming and has everything you need. There's also a couple of nice communal sitting areas for rainy days or chilling out It is situated right in the middle of everything.

The rooms are a little dark and our room at the back with a nice jungle view had frosted glass, which was a shame. Unawatuna itself is not a place I would return to but if you're there, I'd highly recommend Flamingo

The staff was amazing, such a nice people, available 24/7, supportive. You could feel like visiting your family (lovely family). Beautiful place for breakfast, the view was amazing. Having food preferences they were so open for our suggestions, eventually we had a unique breakfast, the best in Sri Lanka! :) I ordered "ocean view room" (which has a window/balcony to the street) without knowing how intense night life in Unawatuna is. The owner did so much effort to try to rearrange bookings to change into "jungle room" (opposite side with a garden view, much more quiet). Balcony was nice, view to the ocean above some buildings and trees, view to the busy street and bars downstars - it was very nice, colourful, chilling. You felt like perfect place for your vacations. Whatever question or wish we had, it was solved and answered immediately and with pleasure. Amazing how happy people the owner's family are! Location in the centre of everything. You leave the room and you have what you want (beach, water sport activities, street full of stores, travel agencies, tuk tuks, restaurants etc.)

If you're not fan of night life it might be to much noise to let you sleep while others are out. Also if you're not fun of russian hits ;) Just one plug in the room.

- room: rather spacious and every piece of equipment was intact. If there would be a luggage rack, it would be ideal - staff and host: very helpful and cheerful - location: beach is right across the street, our room was towards the back, which was really good as it is more quite

Only very small points: - noise insulation: noise insulation of the room is very limited, so we heard almost all the (bathroom) noises from our neighbours - mosquito net: the net for the double bed was actually two single bed nets. Therefore, it was too short at the ends of the bed and we still got biten
