Banyuwangi Baru Homestay

The place was hard to find as the name at the actual property was different from booking.com. The air conditioner was not working properly and there was no window to open or a fan. There was a mosque up the road and we were awakened at 3:09 am by the loud speaker which then continued for one hour. This should be mentioned in the ad so an informed choice can be made.

So far it’s been the worst place I've ever been, and I've traveled a lot during my life. Can’t understand at all the good reviews. It was old, very very dirty. No sink in the bathroom, so to wash your hands you needed to use the pipe of the shower or the flush. The worst part was that the beds had cockroaches. As soon as we started to check and move the pillows cockroaches were hidden on them. Absolutely disgusting. When we called the staff, they came with an empty insecticide and we noticed once they pull the mattress about a giant hole which was likely to be the nest. We booked it because was convenient as it is close to the train station, and we were arriving late at night, but not worth it at all. For the price you can find decent places, better than this one.

Early check out in the night was uncomplicated.

We did not stay in this homestay. Its closed. The same owner has a homestay around the corner, where we slept. Hard to find. It is okay for the money. Not more. The drain was very smelly.

Good location next to the trainstation and ferry port. Very cheap and a good place to go to Ijen. Booked another night to go to Ijen and that was very easy and no problem.

Bed was not really comfortable and the room didn’t look that well. But that is what you can expect from the price.

I booked this homestay for one reason only it was close to the railway station and as we had to be at the train station at 0445hrs we did not want to have to walk to far or get a taxi that time of morning. The welcome was very friendly

I knew when I booked I was getting just one room we were a party of 4 myself and wife and two grandchildren 18 &23 I wanted a room to rest in before catching the train, however 2 doubles not very comfortable an air conditioner hardly working a shower just on /off one cold feed and Indonesian toilet no sink, very uncomfortable 7 hrs resting before train.
