Juda Holiday Villa

Small, cozy homestay in a quiet area, very close to the beach. The area is fenced and there are a lot of plants in front of the house. The main street in the town is about 10 minutes walk away, from where you can easily get a bus to Batticaloa. The room and bathroom are neat. The room is quite small, but sufficient, mosquito nets over the beds. The common space is a table with chairs and a large fridge. We highly recommend this place. And the best recommendation is that we came for 2 nights and stayed 6.

The downside for us was the synthetic bed linen (which makes you sweat more) and the short beds (if you are over 175 cm tall). There is also not much place to unpack your things except for a small table. We also missed a kettle - we bothered our hosts (thank you for the boiling water and your patience!). 🧡 All these remarks are small and subjective.

Host helpful and a quiet location near beach.

Unsurprisingly basic accommodation. Ideal for a single night stopover. Friendly host with good English language. Quiet location very close to Kallady beach. Excellent Indian Vegetarian Restaurant in walking distance.

Plumbing leak meant the bathroom floor was permanently wet. Mattress a little firm for my liking.

The owners were super friendly, helped us with everything and arranged a tuktuk for us in the morning. They speak very good English. We had a nice conversation with them and they also made a special tea for us. The room is clean and walk distance from beach and few restaurants. It was good stay for us on our way to the south. Can recommend!

nothing everything was perfect

The room was very clean and comfortable, and had good energy. The house too. I liked it more than some of the guesthouses nearby.

Very sweet couple running the Homestay. Overall clean. They kindly cooked us a meal on arrival. Nice common area with a table and seating. Budget accommodation. Was in the area badly hit by the 2004 tsunami and memorials can be visited easily from this Homestay.

No hot water for showers. Though I asked specifically to have air conditioning and was reassured it was available, on arrival discovered the unit in one room did not work and the owner was reluctant to supply the controls for the other room so we managed without it which reduced our comfort at night especially.

Bed too hard for me and remaining quibbles really down to weather with no WiFi and cold shower.

The location was very good and there was place in the yard for parking the scooter.

The owner was extremely nice and polite and I'm sorry to say this, but the room and the bathroom weren't clean at all and it smelled like mold and humidity inside. Also a cloth rack or an extra chair would be very useful, because there was no place to put your things except a very small table and the floor.
