Archontiko Filippidi

We had a wonderful time. The room was very clean and charming, and the building is picturesque which makes your stay an authentic greek experience. The breakfast has a good variety, with local, fresh and home made products (delicious!), which is taken outside in the garden with an amazing view of the mountains and the sea. The owners were very kind, always ready to help, and very attentive if you have an additional request (thanks a lot for the special breakfast!)

I loved the historic home. It was beautiful. The staff was super nice and the breakfast was great! We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend. The place has beautiful views as well! We enjoyed it a lot.

Unfortunately, for various reasons we did not stay

The whole experience was quite negative. Firstly, despite receiving instructions from the owner, the hotel was difficult to find. The signage was perfunctory and even when outside the building, there was nothing to identify it. We entered the building which was quite dark. There was no bell or any means to identify our arrival. We waited for around 10 mins and then I rang the property. She seemed surprised I was there, despite me immediately replying to her message with directions, to say we would see her shortly. Eventually, a lady called Maria arrived and showed us the room. Again, the welcome was cursory. She showed us the room and the keys and said breakfast would be outside. Our impression was we had disturbed her. The room itself was very large but smelt unaired, giving the impression it had not been used for some time. The net curtains were dirty, the shower tray had many dead flies in it. There were no glasses provided, nor indeed any water in the fridge. There was no kettle. The whole room was just dark and oppressive. We have visited Greece many times and many different places. We are by no means demanding and we have stayed in many different rooms, hotels and apartments. We have always been greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. Sadly, none of this was present in Archontiko Filippidi. For these reasons, we felt we could not stay and left. Thanks to Booking.com, we managed to book a hotel only a short drive away, where the welcome and accommodation was brilliant!
