We had such a wonderful stay at this guesthouse. Kudo-san was incredibly kind and accommodating from the very beginning. We arrived in the morning and even though it was too early to check in, he allowed us to leave our luggage so we could explore comfortably. When we came back around 7pm, he wasn’t home, but he left us a thoughtful note saying to feel at home and that he would return at 10pm. That small gesture already made us feel so welcome. Even though we only stayed for one night, we truly felt his kindness and hospitality. He prepared breakfast for us and even sent us to the station very early in the morning. Such a warm and wonderful person. The guesthouse itself is very homey, clean, and charming. If you want to experience staying in a vintage Japanese-style home, this is the perfect place. It feels like visiting your grandparents’ or aunt and uncle’s house — cozy, nostalgic, and full of warmth. Highly recommended 🤍 See you again Kudo-san!

I went to Sapporo for the Snow Festival and stayed 3 nights at Shabby House. I loved it. Such a friendly place and everything that I needed was there. Kudo-San is so kind and helpful. He is also a very good cook. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Sapporo.

The host was very kind, responsive, and helpful :) He was kind of enough to pick me up from the station on my first day and drop me off on my last day. And also made a very tasty breakfast every morning! The room was also very cozy. I stayed in a single room that had a heated blanket! The location was also nice. Located in a quiet neighborhood near a grocery shop and a tram the led to city center.

The room heated up really well, so much that if I forgot to turn off the heater it would become too warm to sleep. But other than that, everything was fine for me.
