Appartamento Ortigia

This is a beautiful, historic, fantastically clean apartment with a modern kitchen and bathroom in the centre of Ortigia. It is one of four apartments owned by the same person or company. We met the housekeeper who was friendly and helpful. Everything is on the drop step including a lovely piazza with a cafe and restaurant. The sea where you can swim is a short walk. In fact everything is a short walk from the apartment.

We booked the apartment advertised as two bedrooms. It is only one bedroom. The second bedroom is the corridor outside the bathroom between the bedroom and living/kitchen area. This has no privacy so if you want two bedrooms with privacy this is not for you. If you’re ok with this set up or the double sofa bed in the living area then it is a great place. I would have given it 9 or 10 if we had wanted and booked a one bedroom apartment.

Doordat er weinig ramen zijn, kan het een beetje somber zijn als het buiten wel mooi weer is. Wij hadden een appartement geboekt zonder terras of balkon. Een volgende keer zou ik mogelijk wel kiezen voor de balkon/terras versie via dezelfde verhuurder.

The location in the historic and beautiful Jewish quarter is excellent. Quiet and beautiful and minutes from the Duomo and sea. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Great bathroom and shower.

Some extra pillows for the bed would have been nice.
