Comfortable stay in Shirley, Solihull - Room-2

Great.... very neat and friendly host... there is privacy too, serene environment among others.... Close to social amenities and shops. I will use this facility again and again. I love beautiful flowers 🌺 in the facility too

I was in room 2 and as it is next to the toilet/shower room, I was woken on more than one occasion, not only by the squeaky door, but also by the flush which is very loud. I would happily stay there again, but NOT in room 2.

The property is very well located and very easy to find. I enjoyed my stay with my partner, as it was very private and quiet. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to the ensuite room for comfort, which was very thoughtful. The room was very clean and pretty. The bathroom was the same, and everything we needed was provided. This is the perfect place for a quick trip and I would recommend.

I think it's about right for the money but I should have spent a bit more money to stay at a more conventional hotel! The owner accommodated my request to park at the property early so we could attend a funeral.

Not easy to park, property is on a main road and reversing onto the drive was a bit of a nightmare - also another car (poss the owners or another guest) had selfishly parked right in the middle of the drive making parking even more of a unnecessary pain. The corridor into the room was so small that two people can't get passed each other. The room was very basic and the bed was hard. The heating was up too high in the whole property. Even though there was room for a small fridge in the room there wasn't one which would have been great for a simple bottle of water which again there wasn't one. The wardrobe wasn't securely fixed to the wall and fell into me when I opened the door just to hang up a jacket. The bathroom was also cramped and because the towel rail was on full getting up of the toilet I burned my arm on the exposed side valve because there was no plaatic cover on it. Would not use the shower as it didn't look clean or hygienic. All in all not expensive but also not value for. Money, would not recommend.

Unfortunately, nothing about this stay was positive. We did not feel safe or treated with basic respect.

When we arrived there was no key in the key box, even though no check-in cutoff time was mentioned in our booking. We had to knock on the door, and a person inside came out and the key was inside the house, not in the box as stated. That person was playing loud music at 2 AM but accused us of making noise. Soon after, the caretaker arrived and became verbally aggressive, telling us to leave and threatening to call the police. We felt unsafe, humiliated, and uncomfortable, so we decided to leave the property immediately. Booking.com is still investigating, but this was an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. Not recommended for anyone expecting professionalism or safety.
