Kwalucia Private Safari Retreat

Magnificient place inside a lovely garden. Breakfast outstanding. Biggest asset is by far the host/owners Marie and Adrian who are remarkable in all aspects. We loved our stay in Kwalucia and we hope to be able to return one day.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were able to answer any questions we had and were so knowledgeable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! I am not a huge fruit lover, but the fruit was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, as was everything else we tried.

The hosts Adrian and Marie offered a very warm welcome. Adrian told us all about the local area, he's lived in St Lucia most of his life, and helped us put together an itinerary for our 4 days there. He then booked tours and safaris for us and even loaned us his golf clubs free of charge. The breakfast provided by Marie was fantasic and varied every day. Only 5 minutes walk and we even saw hippos in the park opposite (Marie messaged us to tell us they were there). Excellent place, lovely people, highly recommend.

Having to leave

It is an amazing place we want to come back to. We were delighted during our stay for several reasons. Firstly, our room was beautifully decorated. Every small detail, including the scent, was carefully considered. For instance, there is a comfortable bathtub with a bathtub tray and candles; the sink is decorated with the image of a hippo. There are gels, shampoos, body lotions, cotton swabs, and pads near the sink – all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, and I must say we are quite particular about it. There is a TV in the room – although we didn't watch it, we enjoyed listening to the radio with local and classical music. Additionally, we were provided with tea, coffee, and small snacks in the room. Secondly, the owner of the place, Adrian, helped us plan and organize our stay in St. Lucia. Thanks to him, we had the best experience during our entire journey in South Africa. We had a boat tour to see hippos. Importantly, we were on a boat with only a few tourists and a knowledgeable guide, while other ships were crowded with people. Our guide showed us some additional sights. The next day, we went ocean fishing, and there were only five of us on the boat. We were very lucky, and for 3.5 hours, we enjoyed whale watching. Now, we have hundreds of pictures and videos of whales, and I even caught a big tuna! Adrian joined us to ensure the fish was properly cooked in the restaurant. It was a delicious and unique experience; we had never eaten such fresh tuna. Adrian also provided suggestions about restaurants, local markets, and other excursions. We truly appreciated the way he and Marie treated us. Thirdly, the breakfasts were superb. In the evening, guests can come to the hall, have a drink, and listen to music. There were books and photo albums available. For those interested, there is a small pool. We didn't swim but enjoyed its illumination in the evenings. We highly recommend booking this place.

We cannot think of a better hospitality than what we experienced here! Adrian and Marie really love what they do and you feel it every minute. Attention to detail, wonderful homemade breakfast, tips and advices, answers on all questions we had. Just excellent! Go there if you are in St. Lucia!!!

Very nice place to stay! The owners are allways looking after Your needs. They give You importants hints where to go, where to have diner and all about the national parks close by. The breakfast is really outstanding!!!!! Self made bread, better than out of the bakery! All healthy food with a lot of love on top!. Daily weather forecasts inclusive! Very helpful!! P.S. the warm blanket in the bed are not be missed.....

Tropical garden and facilities at the lodge, caring hosts offering excellent recommendations for visits to the St. Lucia lagoon, the Cape Vidal National Park and fishing trips in the Indian Ocean

The location was excellent. Just a few minutes walk from restaurants in a very quiet and safe area. The hospitality was outstanding and breakfast was a real highlight.

Beautiful facilities, nice hosts with lots of good advice, best breakfast we had on our trip - thank you Marie and Adrian for making our stay so memorable!
