Cinnabar Resort

Globalement un tres joli établissement avec des cabanes dans les arbres. Une très belle piscine. Le tout directement posé sur la plage. L’ensemble est vraiment très chouette visuellement Le breakfast est copieux et délicieux

Un accueil vraiment pas à la hauteur. Je suis arrivé avec mon compagnon sri lankais avec qui je vis depuis plusieurs années. On m’a proposé un surclassement dans une cabane dans les arbres ce qui était très sympa. On me l’a fait visiter et 5 minutes après, lorsque la direction a compris que la personne sri lankaise qui était avec moi n’etait pas juste mon chauffeur, ils ont fait marche arrière sur le surclassement. C’était vraiment insultant et pas à la hauteur de l’établissement. Une réelle discrimination envers les personnes sri lankaise. Sinon notre chalet de luxe était très sombre et donnait sur le chemin. Du coup obligé de fermer les rideaux tout le temp. La petite terrasse n’etait pas intime car sur le chemin et disposait de 2 pauvres chaises qui n’invitaient vraiment pas à la détente. Des fauteuils auraient été les bienvenus. La porte de la salle de bain ne fermait pas et la moustiquaire était trouée à plusieurs endroits. Je suis donc globalement déçu par cet établissement. Pour le même prix, je suis allée dans des endroits vraiment exceptionnels au Sri Lanka.

Amazing and unique experience. Great bunglow and tree houses. Fantastic pool. Right on the beach

We stayed here for one night to experience a childhood dream of ours—sleeping in a treehouse. Nestled among century-old trees, they have created a small wooden world, making Cinnabar a truly unique and impressive place. However, it may not be suitable for everyone. For example, if you are overweight, climbing the steep ladders to the treehouses can be challenging. Likewise, if you are uncomfortable with monkeys or insects, you may find it difficult to sleep, as the treehouses do not have glass windows. If you are not at ease with nature and prefer a higher level of comfort, this might not be the right place for you.

We found the hotel staff to be less welcoming than expected; at times, they even seemed unfriendly. The service was also slow and somewhat unorganized.

Great place if you just want a couple of days of rest on the beach. The whole resort is such a vibe, never stayed at a place like this before. Right in nature, so beware of some wildlife! Compared to other places in the south, it was super quiet here and I enjoyed my tree house so much. At night you can hear the waves. The breakfast was excellent, especially the big fruit platter. The pool is big so it’s also great for swimming!

It’s a bit unfortunate that you can only pay with cash since it’s not very cheap, would have probably spent more money but the next ATM is in the city center which is like a 20 min walk. Not a super big deal though! I also had to get used to the open concept of the tree houses (you hear all the animals and insects outside and some also come in, but I was safe under my mosquito net). After one night it was totally fine and I really enjoyed my stay :)

La situation géographique sur la plage, la magnifique piscine (au sel) ds un jardin de rêve, les cabanes ds les arbres (nous avons été surclassés), les repas et poissons excellents

Traumhafte Lage am Strand, sehr schöne Anlage, die täglich gehegt und gepflegt wird, toller Pool und gutes Essen! Viele Restaurants sind zu Fuss gut erreichbar.

In der Zeit, in der wir dort waren, war es zu gefährlich zum Baden im Meer, aber dafür waren die Strände menschenleer.

So many of the reviews on booking.com say how brilliant places are, so it’s hard to really work out the really special places. Cinnabar is on another level. You feel it as soon as you arrive. The atmosphere, the care taken with everything, the food and all the staff. And of course, the totally amazing tree houses. We had five days there and just loved it. Waking up in the trees to the sound of the sea - amazing. Thank you to everyone on the Cinnabar team.

Incredible place - tree houses built up on stilts with individual stairs and walk ways to each. Beautiful saltwater pool and restaurant right on to the beach. Sleeping with the crashing waves and waking to the most beautiful beach was wonderful. Stunning location that felt truly decadent and a little slice of paradise. Fantastic food - we had the barbecued fish which was a real treat.

Accommodation and food was on the expensive side for Sri Lanka but then the effort gone into building this place probably justifies it.

Great location by the beach. Slept in a tree house . Lovely pool to swim in.

The managers were not very friendly. Staff not great on service.

Heel bijzonder resort. De tuin is echt prachtig echt bied een hoop schaduw. Het zwembad is fijn. De medewerkers zijn heel aardig en vrijwel de hele dag bezig om de boel netjes te houden en zorgen voor een fijne sfeer. De kamer is basic maar wel heel mooi gemaakt (verwacht wel wat gekkos en insecten)Als je van natuur houd, en van rust houdt dan is dit een aanrader. Het ontbijt is ook erg goed.

Zee is te ruig om in te zwemmen, wel heel mooi strand.
